Bout to sell this junk

Im so frustrated with this blower right now. Im thinking about just selling it all. The blower kit and the nitrous. The bolt that goes from the bracket to the alternator mounting hole has stripped. The threads on the hole are stripped. I was installing the spacer that goes between there and the tension on the belt crossed the threads on the block. Im so fed up with it cause ive been working forever on this car to get it right. The blower is not on the car right now. The belt wont stay in alignment cause that bolt is screwd up.

My only option is to rethread the hole to fit a 10mm bolt and drill out the spacer to fit that. Stock bolt is 8mm. I feel like im tearing up this car trying to get it to fit right. It looks as if I still have $200 more worth of work to be done before the car is like it needs to be. I wish I had just found an 03 cobra in the first place.....been working over a month to get it done and tuned.:chairshot:

is it on the timing cover it self?

jeredan2003 10-16-2006 04:53 PM

This particular bolt doesnt attatch to the timing cover. Its threaded into the block. If your looking at the alternator, its the bottom left mounting bolt on the alternator. Looks like I may either sell it, or put the car back to stock until I can get enough money to have someone else fix it and install the blower. Im just tired of messing with it and getting nowhere.

Welcome to my world.

Just like everyone keep saying. Take a break and come back to it later.

Codiddy 10-16-2006 11:51 PM

Stick with it, do like everyone said and take a break, and think about how sweet the boost will be once it is finally on.

MattJ 10-17-2006 12:08 AM

think about how much hassle it is going to be before its right. save yourself the trouble and give it to me.

jeredan2003 10-17-2006 07:45 AM

well im going to get a set of helicoils for it.Im driving my dads 95 cobra hardtop/convertable right now. 1 of 499 that were made.:breakdancesmilie: so its not so bad. Maybe ill try this some more. I have calmed down a bit. Its just so frustrating and it seems I have a short fuse with cars.

red281gt 10-17-2006 08:45 AM

jeredan2003 10-17-2006 09:56 AM

Do yourself a favor and get a good fuel pump instead of that piece of crap walboro...it will save you from future problems.

People always bash my walbro pump, however......it been running strong for 2 years on spray and killing chevys in the process. I wont be removing it...:kekekegay:

Next year ill just put on cobra tank/aviator pumps and aeromotive fuel rails...
