Chip or Xcal2 with Procharger

I just bought a used procharger with the works. I also got a sct chip included in the deal. I already have the Sct Xcal 2. Will I need to use the chip or can I use the Xcal 2 and sell the chip. Thanks

you can use either one. but you need to get dyno tuned. Mail ordered tunes are crap. It doesnt really matter which one you use. I can tell you this you will get alot more money for the x-cal then the chip.

So can I use a mail order tune just to drive to the dyno ? Approx 2 hrs. Thanks.

Yes, just dont go into boost. Id sell the chip and keep the XCal.

gotta drive like a granny till you're tuned. Is there nowhere closer to you than 2hrs drive? If not, I'd seriously consider trailering it just to be on the safe side. And, sell the chip and keep the xcal. You can have custom tunes loaded on xcal and then you can tinker with it if you add some other bolt on that you need a little retune for.

yeah its really up to you. me i dont need a x-cal2 so i am not gettig one. I already have a code reader etc.. so i dont really see a need for one for my car. Its up to you.

I drove my car for 2 weeks on stock tune/injectors/MAF with a vortech s-trim pullied for 8lbs without any problems. I ran for 2 hours constantly and getting car up to 110mph on the interstate with NO boost. Actually, it seemed to run better and get better gas mileage than before. There wasnt any detonation. I drove like a granny around town. You can easily stay out of boost. As long as you dont put the pedal to the floor, itll stay out of boost.
You need to have the chip calibrated to run with the size injectors you have.

However, I dont recommend that you do what I did. Just go and get it tuned.

I say this all the time and when I bring it up people always slap themselves for not thinking about it.

First off AAA isn't a cali only thing is it? ANyways I hope it's not.

If you have AAA go ahead and spring the like extra $20 to get the gold or premium or whatever package they have that will tow you 100 miles free of charge. They'll take you anywhere you want to go the owner just has to come along or meet the car at the destination to sign off. Park the car on the street call up AAA tell them something is up witht he car and you just want it towed to a mechanic. Done. Car and modded engine gets to the dyno safe and sound.

Yea, I almost hit myself because it just seemed like such an obvious thing and it just came to me one day I was getting towed home after having tranny issues out in San Diego. They towed me all the way to Downey about 60-70 miles away free of charge. I thought why not do this when I need to get a tune or something??

We've had problems with the AAA guys not towing cars from the drag strip if they say they have been racing. So keep that in mind if you have been and need a tow.

Really? And what was the reason they give for not towing the cars? I've never seen anyone at the track have an issue?
