Engine Backfiire.....
 

Well earlier I wrote and I had a backfire and It blew a big hole in my intake manafold. It was because of a switch malfunction on my nitrous switch But I am wondering if this has happened to anyone and do you think it is just a intake manafold? I dont know what happened to my last thread so I am re-writing it. :shakeno:

Hmm, a nitrous hiccup? Id take this opportunity to replace the crappy plastic manifold on there now and go with an HPS or Bullitt intake. Its probably just your intake that blew but id check for plastic fragments.

hmmm could be a few things.....such as the wiring....you may have switched it off and the solonoid just kept feeding nitrous into the intake. Along the lines of that...That sucks everytime I hear something like this it scares the crap out of me

Yup well I will keep you posted ut it happened when I really could not afford it or do without the car..

the intake is soo cheap just replace. Do you have a window switch by the way?

Yea it kept spraying after I got out of it then kabooom,I was off the gas and it kept spraying.

with the window switch it kepted spraying? must be wired wrong. it should of stopped when you were off the throttle.

Yup the two wires in the button in the shifter handle shorted out and it stayed on when I got out of it.

makes me glad i sold the hurst t-handle with the built in button.

I have a replacement intake manifold, if interested?

You can still blow a Bullitt intake.

How much for each item, and how much power does the motor make?
