Blow off valve question.

Are there any real improvements when upgrading from the stocker? The S/C pulley is spinning extremely fast after deceleration and its causing the belt to slightlly ride on the edge of the pulleys. This only happens when i let off the gas and i dont do it abruptly. Will a Mini race bypass help me with this problem? And should i vent in the atmosphere with a draw-thru set up?

Help? I can barely romp on the pedal now. I am starting to see the belt frail on the edges already. The pulley alignment looks perfect so i know thats not the problem.

I don't know about your belt problem but I can tell you do not vent into the atmosphere on a draw through set-up. DO NOT VENT METERED AIR!!

Gotcha. That makes sense.

you still running a blow through set up right? on 9psi i dont think you need an upgrade. are you still running the bosch bypass that came with your kit? unless the car is surging i wouldnt wory about it.

The problem doesn't sound like the bypass, it's the bracket bending a little. On '00 and newer GTs the bracket only has 2 mounting bolts I think, and the bracket tends to twist under heavy strain. Read it on Modular Depot where a guy has come up with a bracket to help with this. It's somewhere in the Poweradder section. Getting a new bypass won't slow down the blower any.Actually, the resistance from having a smaller bypass and the throttle being closed should slow it down quicker.
Also you can vent to atmosphere if you are still running the Maf in a blowthrough setup.

Custom bracket mod for 2V P1-SC

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just completed my 8-rib setup. And since I was tired of my P1-SC shimming itself so that the idler pulley on the bracket rubbed on the alternator (thanks to ATI's ingenious pos 2 bolt bracket design) I decided to custom fab a mod to prevent this. Basically what I did was with the help of a local metal fab shop, I designed and they whipped up a spacer/shim preventer that serves a couple of functions. 1st, it keeps the setup from shifting like mentioned above. 2nd, it provides a third contact point onto the valve timing cover to help keep proper spacing and alignment. A spacer with an inside diameter of 21mm was made to fit over the 18mm valve timing chain cover and welded to the bracket...........ah heck, i'm too tired........the pictures explain it all:

HMMMM.
