came into some $ what next?
Well i got approved for a loan for $5500. this is what i have done to my car so far. I have a 2001 mustang GT
ebay intake 4.10 gears flowmaster catback NX 75 wet shot.(wont be keeping much longer) anyway, i know i want to supercharge my car. but i want to keep it my daily driver. so nothing really over 400rwhp. ive been reading about quite a few s/c's it seems to me that vortech has a good kit for decent price that will yeild acceptable results.ive also read about Kenne Bell or other roots styles. they are cool too but costs more, i have also read a rumor that they put more of a strain on your motor. my car has 80k miles. so a centrifugal sc seems right for me i suppose? i dont know much so anyone with any other imput/suggestions on what supercharger to buy will be greatly appriciated, i dont know much so anything is good. and consider the install price because i wont be doing it myself. i belive i would have to get a tune too? but anyway 360-400rwhp seems about right to me. thanks |
using a loan for mods is not smart

It's your money ut getting a loan for parts is kinda not smart. But if you do it call MPH and order the Vortech mongoose kit!

I would go with a Vortech based on what you have old me. BTW, getting a loan for mods is OK IMO if the car is paid-off, but that is just me. To each their own.
Want to hear my horror story???? I have 65k on my car and took it in to have my blower installed. Thing is, I found out my motor was blown and had three bad rings due most likely from running nitrous. So, I had to buy a new motor. If you have 80k on your motor and have been spraying, there is a good chance your motor won't last too long on boost. if I were you, BEFORE buying a blower at least perform a compression test and then keep enough money on the side for a new motor. If this is your DD, with 80k miles, been running nitrous, owe money on the loan and now borrowing more for mods, I would definately not put a blower on it. IMO, it is only a matter of time before the motor takes a crap and then where will you be left. If it is a second car and you got cash, then who gives a dam. The smart thing might be to sell the car and get one you can add a blower to, or spend the $5500 on a nice built motor that will make 300 hp+ at the tires right out of the box. Then, add a blower later and make 600 + hp. Or, buy a nice n/a, high compression built motor, screw the blower and make 400 rwhp for the next 200k miles. |
