Jeremy gets a bike

I got myself an early Christmas present last night. A 2005 Ninja 250. It is a small bike, but it is my first time ever being on one. So I wanted a good starter bike that I can get used to. My insurance is only going to be $64 a year so that is a lot cheaper than the stang, haha

Nice...I want to get a bike. In fact I want a motorcycle license. I don't get how your supposed to do a license test though. How are they going to give you directions on where to turn with helmets on :icon_scra

I got my permit already. After a year I take the road course test for my full license and all. To get the permit all I had to do was pass a 25 question test.

I took a riders course here in Texas and if you take the course you just have to do a written test at the DMV to get your license, if you don't take the riders course, you go to the the DMV take the written course then a state trooper follows you in a car and honks once for left and honks twice for right turns. At least that's how it is in Texas, could be diff for other states.

Shoulda got a used 600, you will get tired of the the 250 real quick. I was in the same boat as you. I wanted and got my 1st bike, but it was a used R6. 600 is enough engine for me, for now. I want a GSXR 750, but my GSXR 600 is good enough of a "speed fix" for now.

I got a helmet and gloves so far.

mgar22: I didn't get the bike for speed. I got it to put some miles off of the stang, save some gas, and just enjoy during summer. Besides I would rather die in my stang than on a bike anyday, haha

I love my black bullitt's, they make the whole car look so different. I have Kumho tires all around. 265/35/18 up front and 295/35/18 out back

For some reason I think you'll change your mind about the speed thing. Anyways, any bike is fun to ride, just be safe out there, the key is: drive defensively.

Here's a little vid for you, not to scare you but to let you know how important wearing helmets and leathers are. (It has wrecks and injuries, not too graphic.)

Watching stuff like this makes me a ride safer.

thanks, i can say one thing some of the best times of my life was on my bike and definitly the worst. go to atleast one bike week in any part of the country its just amazing. enjoy the bike the best rides are through curvey country roads at modarate speeds you dont have to break the speed of sound. and most important leave the wheelies to the people that dont care that there family has to bury them. good luck with it.
