krenogin 01-15-2010 09:19 AM

the whole cars just sweet.

venom 01-15-2010 11:33 AM

Thanks, I updated with the gauges I have left. I have an Equus temp gauge that I might not put in depends on how it looks with others might just get another Cobat.

Do you like the shift light? I've been looking at the Stage 2 version of it and also maybe a scroll light shift light, but I can't decide which one is best. I like the progressive setup versus just a tach with a light that flashes when I hit my shift point.

NewMustangMan 01-15-2010 01:34 PM

man those look sick!

The stage 2 is sweet and I wanted to get it but some one was selling this stage 1 at half what it cost new anywhere. Later on I will get a stage 2 but for now this will do.

It does what its suppose to do and fits in a pod which I like. I might move Shift light to the lower pod under the WB as the RPM leds are very bright and right in front of my eyes lol and no way to dim it. You can dim the intensity of the shift light as well as turn off the RPM leds all together. The WB you can dim LED display which is something that the shift light should have but no biggie.

Looks sweet...not sure what it is but I really like gauges as well! I've got the stage 2 shift light in the same pod. The stage 2 is awesome since you can set a different shift point for each gear and also for launch. Also have oil pressure, water temp and boost in the ultra lite series which match my simco silver cluster pretty well.. Boost is in the steering column pod which I still need to paint to match. I still want to get a wide band and fuel pressure.

Looks pretty cool, but man that looks bright.

venom 01-15-2010 09:02 PM

It's a bit bright for being in the top most pod since it's at eye level. I'll have a vid up as soon as a I mount the others.

Well good catch on the shift light, they do get pretty expensive that's whats keeping me away right now lol.

And I could tell they were pretty bright from the pictures. You would think a dim feature would be offered, but I guess thats too simple.

I'm ready to see how it looks with all the cowl gauges too. And a vid is a must lol.

redfire04 01-16-2010 09:39 AM

I was originally going to put mine in the bottom position but when I test mounted the pod it just didn't look right to me there so it ended up in the top. Anyways you'll get use to it after a while...the rpms are red on mine which I don't think seem to be as bright as the blue but the thing that bothered me most wasn't the brightness it was the numbers constantly changing. During the day it's not bad but at night is when it bothered me. In any case I'm use to it now but I still may switch it out with my boost gauge and put it in the steering column pod.

Very nice!

SPiNz 01-25-2010 01:40 PM

so its been YEARS of you building that engine, fancy stripes, fancy tires, and fancy lights...

..when are we gonna run it :]

venom 01-25-2010 02:05 PM

This is a hobby and if I every get done then what of the hobby, lol.

Ive got big plans that I cant risk something happening at the track. When most undertake a project like this they get all the photoshoots, car shows etc then they have fun at the track.

08mustang_gt 01-25-2010 02:25 PM

I just want to say your car is the shit Venom.

Just an FYI. I'm sure you already know....but I just thought I'd remind you.

Hellz yea. I really wish I didn't live in such a cold ass state. I think I'm one of few mustangs around here that has more than just different wheels.

venom 01-26-2010 04:44 PM

Added 2 new pics. Moved shift light towards the bottom and the temp gauge up top. I had to wire up some leds to get the blue lighting effect but worked out great as its not bright enough to blind you but still goes well with the others on the pod.

what track lol. We got 8st right there. between 137ave and krome ave. whats the point of all that power if your not going to run it

venom 01-27-2010 03:52 PM

Not everyone buys or builds a fast car to race on the track or street. Whats the point of having a viper and posting on a mustang Forum lol.

venom 01-27-2010 09:07 PM

All done, updated pics , next up is plumbing all the fuel lines.

Before you ask why so many gauges, its because I can:D

foncarelli 01-28-2010 05:35 AM

i loss progress of your car after that big storm that hit your area. Those gauges look sweet

venom 01-28-2010 06:14 AM
