Badass man! Those M1's are beasts!!! is that 10/22 just a little carbine or something? I've never seen one.

PColav6 07-30-2009 04:41 PM

Oh yeah, I fucking love my M1. lol

The 10/22 is a Ruger .22lr rifle, it's the most common .22 rifle in the world because how cheap it is (was), aftermarket parts and reliability. I just prettied mine up a bit by refinishing the stock, adding a recoil pad (to make it longer) and a heat shield. I'm going to put some optics on it because the iron sight setup blows (shoots high). Fun plinker though, love it.

It's about the same length as my M1 Carbine, and I believe they designed them to look similar to the carbines.

Can't beat a nice day at the range. How many rounds did you go through?

PColav6 07-30-2009 05:05 PM

120 7.62x39, and 56 .30-06, and 100 or so .22 I guess

About $50 in ammo. lol

krenogin 07-30-2009 05:36 PM

nice, ur ak uses same shells as mine "7.62" i have a saiga. its all synthetic stock. i like your wood finish!

PColav6 07-30-2009 05:44 PM

7.62x39 and 5.45x39 are the two most common rounds for any AK style rifle, there are some .223 AKs but only bitch boys use those.

Thanks for the compliments on the wood, I refinished it with some walnut stain (romanian AK wood looks like plywood when you get it). But I've been itching to mod it a little so I'm going to replace the handguards with a rail system and throw on a green laser and a vertical grip. It'll be fun.

About $50 in ammo. lol

It could be worse.. The rounds for the Beowulf that I want are anywhere from $1.60-$2.50 per round .

Slim03GT 07-31-2009 07:35 AM

Always a good time at the range.

r3dn3ck 07-31-2009 08:35 AM

You guys don't think I'd let this one go without popping in did you?

Audi... You really haven't bought much if ammo cost of a buck or 2 a round is enough to bugeyes at. Try $5 a hit for just the turned bronze projectile, 3 bucks each for the cases and about 2.50 in powder for each round out of my .338-50 or 100 bucks a shot (in 1994 dollars) for my .700 nitro (truth be told, I shot the big-70 twice in order to win a bet which included ultimate ownership of the gun and about 100 rounds and then, with 2 severely injured shoulders to haunt me for the rest of my life, I stored it away in and haven't ever wanted to shoot it again). I do on occasion take out my Weatherby in .30-378 and bust coyotes at extended range but those are pretty costly at $120 a box of 20 (or 6 dollars a shot). Ammo is expensive. Learn to reload and it's not such a big deal. A set of dies is 40 bucks so now I reload my 30-378 shells for < a buck each and if I wanted to I could probably reload the .700's for about the same cost. Big ass 1000gr slugs of lead don't cost much... powder in 300gr dumps does.

(insert redneck joke here)

Just kidding. The M1 Garand sucks in Call of Duty though.

I'm only 19 dammit, and this is the 21st century where you can't buy 5 military rifles for under $1000. lol
