backyard project for the past month
So when we moved into our house a little over a year ago, there was only dirt and bark int he backyard. With having two dogs it makes for a nice mess when it rains. We've been planning on putting grass in for awhile now, but finally we got things done. Once we actually startted the project it took about a month to complete. Most of the work was done on weekends and a little bit after work during the week. Job consisted of removing all the bark which filled up a 6 yard container, rototilling, raking, levelling, removing any big rocks and such, digging trenches for sprinkler system and then finally laying sod. We also added a dog run which is concrete and a chain link fence. We had that professionally done. Doing everything ourselves, we probably saved about $2500-3000 from what we were quoted for everything. I'm extremely happy to be done. Laying the sod was the easiest part. Here are some before and after pictures.

And After: Still have to clean up some.

You should buy a bunch of mods with the money you saved =P |
Looks good.
Now you're going to actually have to cut the grass. |
very nice man. Huge improvement.

Thanks guys. As usual, the prep work is the biggest pain in the ass. Now it just sucks that since it's finally done, I don't get to walk on the damn thing for a few weeks.

Nice! I was expecting a car too but still pretty sweet job! :D
|
Kick butt, dude. The new yard looks good. But spend some more quality time under the hood and those few weeks that you can't spend on the yard will fly by.

Nice job. Feels great to finish a project, eh? Heres my project that has consumed the last few months of my life...
Heres a before and after pic. EDIT* OK, maybe an after and before pic. The handrails are basically done now and not pictured. Waiting a couple more weeks to give the PT lumber a chance to bleach out a bit more, and then it's time for stain/sealer. |
Looks great dude. Yard work always leaves you feeling so accomplished. I redid my front landscaping last summer, took several weeks, but once I was finished I felt so proud to pull up in the driveway and know I did it all. :D

Turned out real nice

I have to say, I have a new found appreciation for anyone who does landscaping and shit like that for a living. It's not easy and takes a special kind of person to have patience doing it. Now that I've made my wife happy with completing my house project, it's time to sit her down and let her know I'm on the hunt for a supercharger. haha

looks good man, i hope your dogs don't dig any holes in it.lol

looks great man, looks like you have room for a picnic table :)
