Steeda97 06-03-2009 01:55 PM

I love it. I'm looking into getting a bike. Never rode before however. So probably a 250R for me lol.

Mr. Zip 06-03-2009 01:58 PM

Lances03SVT 06-03-2009 02:14 PM

00blkstanggt 06-03-2009 02:39 PM

Looks pretty shitty.

Nah, looks really good. Well done.

Teufelshunde3/5 06-03-2009 02:49 PM

Nice looking bike. I'd probably kill myself riding that thing, but I'd have a hell of a time doing it.

do yourself a favor and DO NOT get a ninja 250R. They arent even quick enough to be safe on the street in my opinion. I have ridden one.. it was a 2008 250R and I had trouble hitting 90mph... it just wouldnt do it... a 250R has about 40 HP... not safe.

Id suggest you buy a ninja 500R if you are going to get a ninja.... I rode one the other day and it was plenty quick for what it was... safely quick. too bad its just a fugly bike.

you'd be fine with a 600cc four cylinder bike...there is no power unless you spin it up to 10k rpm or above, so unless you are TRYING to go fast, its not a fast bike really. but when you TRY to go fast, it will blow your mind.

audikillsbmw 06-03-2009 04:04 PM

I wouldn't exactly consider 90mph slow, considering the fact that most areas have a maximum speed limit of between 55 and 65mph.

King 06-03-2009 04:29 PM

I totally agree with Zig on this one. 600cc is a great amount of power to start with.

As for the bike...I F--ING LOVE IT! Dude, bring it around the Boulder area. I'd love to see it close up.

01FR500 06-03-2009 04:56 PM

Wow, that's a great looking bike. And the gold goes good since it has plently to match.

Badfish 06-03-2009 05:24 PM

Thanks fellas.

3.8for the win 06-03-2009 06:57 PM

very nice man. I like the flat black!

SeanStang 06-03-2009 07:34 PM

Looking good dude, love the new look.

PColav6 06-03-2009 10:11 PM

Looks fucking sick, don't destroy it this time, haha.

Rabbit 06-04-2009 08:16 AM

Nice man.

Why the hell is it, everytime I disappear for a while, once I come back you have wrecked and replaced something? (lol, just f-ing with ya..been a while since I have had the chance)

TUFF 4.6 06-04-2009 07:20 PM

Try and keep it rightside up this time so you dont kill your dumbass next time.:D :D :D :D

PureStang 06-04-2009 07:50 PM

looks really good meng...keep the rubber side down.

and i agree with ziggy...DO NOT get a 250r. theyre extremely slow and cannot get out of their own way. my first bike is a 600cc katana and it is pleanty quick. i have yet to take it above 6k rpm and it redlines at 11k i think.

honestly, if you want a starter, get a v-twin (sv-650 suzuki). they have gobs of torque down low. exactly what you need because when you first start out on a bike, your afraid to twist the throttle. imagine turning your hand on a pipe 30* (degrees). that would be full throttle on most bikes.

fishy, are you going to Laguna Seca for the races this year? i forget if they went already this season.

BikerSk8rKid 06-04-2009 08:43 PM

Nice bike, I can't wait to paint mine black. How much did that cost you all together?

Ps. If not, a Ninja ZX-6R is a good bike too, better then the 250R and way more horsepower.

PureStang: Yeah you're right, but I didn't like that bike and I had the option to either get an SV-650 for 4k or a Ninja ZX-6R 4=for 4k, I got the ZX-6R and I don't regret it one bit. This is my first bike and I felt like I already knew what I was doing and I'm already taking it to the track, racing and doing trick. My next race is up againest my friends Vett. But that's just me and I'm very stubborn.

The ZX-6RR isn't worth it, less HorsePower then the ZX-6R, but it does have a better package for like shocks, seat and other performance parts.

Edit: Get a sound clip or video and lets hear what it sounds like. :D

PureStang 06-04-2009 09:38 PM

the reason for the zx-6rr is so that Kawasaki could run in the 600cc class because obviously the zx-6r cant, it has 636cc's. i think they only released 1000 6rr's.

i would much rather start on a v-twin because of the torque. but im not a starting rider, just no experience since i havent owned my own bike until last month. so when i did ride, it was far and few between.

Yeah I know what you mean, I just didn't like the handling on the V650, the looks, seating and everything just was ugh. Not a bike I would like to sit on for hours or even minutes.

AMNick 06-05-2009 10:14 AM

That flat black is siiiick! Love the flat/matte look. My STripleR 675 is matte graphite...not quite as dark as your's, but it definitely stands out against all the glossy paint jobs out there. Gives it a BAMF look. :D

As far as the 250R goes...I fail to see why a bike that is light, very forgiving of mistakes, cheap to fix if you drop it, but can do 90mph and a 14 second quarter mile is unsafe and too slow for a beginner rider??? Its "slow" as far as bikes go, but I see nothing wrong with buying one, riding it for a year or two to learn on, and then selling it for about the same price you paid for it when you are ready to upgrade. But I guess you all started out driving super-charged 460 big block V8's when you 1st started driving cars too?

Steeda97 06-05-2009 11:23 AM

Nick ftw.

haha, so true. My friends ex has been riding for years and sells and works on bikes and he recommends starting off on a small bike. If you've never riden a bike before, a 250 should be just fine.

BikerSk8rKid 06-05-2009 05:33 PM

I've been on one when I was younger. I felt like I had the knowledge to be able to drive a bigger one. Maybe that's because I've been BMXing my whole life and I also had a little (still do) pocket bike, 110CC or so. No, I didn't want to jump on a Ducati 1198 or GSX-R Hayabusa 1300 yet, but I feel safe and confident enough to want to.

You're right Nick, the parts are cheap, but also you can get any other part cheaper if you look around. I paid $10 or so for my HID's that cost $100 + easy. Paid $10 or $20 for left and right mirror and they're worth WAY more then that I believe. E-Bay, CraigsList and waiting for the win. Paid $4,000 for my bike that's worth $6,00 easy, brand new plates, stickers, plate number/letters, came with a few brand new parts ect. One of my Dist that works for my company, his friend got an R1 for like around $3,000 and it's WAY more worth it then that. Now he's trying to sell it because he lost his job. Wish I had the money. :/

Lets see some pictures of your bike Nick.
