Just Got it yesterday with new pipes. I did a quick polish by hand but will work it on a wheel later on to bring out the shine. Before and After pic plus a vid.

that engine compartment looks mean.

King 04-11-2009 02:39 PM

Have you dyno'd it yet?

venom 04-11-2009 02:51 PM

When I first got it it did 548 rwhp. Im going to do another baseline run then go for a smaller pulley and see what it does after that.

SnTBakosFinest 04-11-2009 04:46 PM

which procharger is that?

also, saw a foxbody with a f3 on it, had two of those things LOL what exactly do they do? o_O

548 hp is nice, what level of boost was that at? That motor just looks soo powerful, those big pipes certainly look menacing!

venom 04-12-2009 05:49 PM

Its a D1 with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAytvFqZHfQ
The boost should go down a bit since I re did the pipes as my previous pipes were crushed a bit and not round in order to clear the hood.

The red part is a by pass valve which is similar to a blow off except it bleeds boost at idle plus blows off boost when shifting while a blow-off only blows off boost during shifts.

you make me want to get a Vortech pretty soon...

Deathdiesel 04-12-2009 09:31 PM

So in other words it reduces stress on your engine/tranns.?

venom 04-12-2009 10:10 PM

In a superchager the blower while at idle is making boost so the only way to prevent it from making it at idle is to have the valve open to protect the engine. While getting hard on the gas and 0 vac or boost the vavle is completely closed. The other way it protects is when you get off the gas the throttle body blade is closed so the incoming air hits the blade which generates a backwave to the supercharger. The bypass opens as you let go of the gas and lets the air out before the backwave can make it to the supercharger.
