First time I've done pics at night with a DSLR. My friend came along with his stock ranger..he's going to be doing some stuff to it soon.

do u have same camera as ryan? just doesnt seem as high quality as it should be.

I have a Canon, and most of these are straight from the camera. I don't do much post-processing to my photos.

Some of them look a little underexposed. You running on M? keep the ISO minimal and go for longer shutter. all in all not bad. Dont be afraid of post processing though. Im learning a shit-ton about CS3 right now. Im putting together a wedding album for my wife since we never put one together, all the pics were done with a Canon and some of the best composed pics were really underexposed, so ive been learning quite a bit about touchup stuff with masking, bluring, level adjustments and such. New Layer - Layer Copy. lol... Of course you should always do your best to nail the photo out well enough that it needs no PP, but there aint nothing wrong with using it when needed. |
same here. even though, nice photos. i like DSLR's. i wish i knew how to do post processing.

Do you have a tripod? My advice would be to set the ISO to 100 and use a tripod. Set the shutter speed to 3-5 seconds.
Looks damn good. I need to get some good night pics of my car.
Thanks guys, and yeah these were all from a tripod. Iso was usually at 200 shutter anywhere from 2-10 seconds...lol

I read your exif data. The problem is that your aperture was set to like F19, etc. You need something a lot bigger like F2.8 or F4 in order to get good night shots. You're just not letting in enough light.
Nice catch! and good point. small aperatures lead to less light. OPEN THAT BITCH UP YO! Lets geta 3.5! |
Yeeeah I didn't even notice my aperture settings..whoops. lol
pics came out good man. Night shots around here come out like poop, we have all those orange 'dark sky' lights that ruin the white balance in night photos.
Loving the wheels and pics came out great...
Car looks good!! That white really does shine.
Thanks guys/girl :D
Looks great I cant wait for the nice weather here so I can snap some
I can't believe the cops never harass you for those headlights they look super blue in photos.
