05 Mustang V6 MAC Boomtube

Hi guys,

Just bought a 05 Mustang V6 a couple of weeks ago, and got around to install an axle back MAC boom tube, so thought I'd post a couple of pics and a sound clip of the outcome.

I'm currently saving up for a SCT tuner, CAI, 3.73 Gear + T-lok before the end of the year, and maybe supercharge it next year if I have enough money.

Any comments, advice are welcome.

IMO i was never a fan of the "Snap crackle pop" sound. But if your happy with it then thats what counts. None the the less your 6er is looking very clean.

Edit* Should have gone with a True Dual set up like i did on my 6er.

looks great and sounds good.

4.75 Gears are really steep you might want to go down to 4.30s or 4.10s. i would get the 4.10s if its you dd so you dont burn so much gas.

+1 I would have gone with a dual exhaust setup would have made it deeper and probably louder but overall very clean stang. Nice job

Also if your going supercahrger even the 4.10's might be too steep.

Dave04Mustang 09-21-2008 03:13 PM

pretty sure he just made a typo and meant 3.73 guys. Especially since he mentioned that in his other thread. 4.75 isn't even a gear ratio i've seen

Acttacus 09-21-2008 03:14 PM

Well.. happy? I'm still in the getting used to it stage. Its too different to the S14 that I was driving previously to really know if I like it or not, but so far so good. It does make my ears ring a little during highway cruise at low rpm though, if I have my windows down. Other than that, a fun car to drive, no complaints as of yet :p.

Oh forgot to add, I'm also planning on getting a MGW short shifter in the very near future. The stock shifter is horrible, first and reverse I pretty much have to jam it in gear.

Peace~

PS. sorry guys about the typo, I meant 3.73 (Feeling a little light headed today, after changing all brake pads/rotors, engine oil, flushed radiator, and took the car out for an hour cruise to see if it makes any difference) haha

Nice side skirts. Maybe i haven't noticed them but i'm pretty sure they don't come stock. Or am i nuts?

PColav6 09-21-2008 03:39 PM

They're black right? Stock

King 09-21-2008 03:46 PM

The black sideskirts are stock on all v6 models.

Acttacus 09-21-2008 04:07 PM

What do you guys think though? instinct tells me that I need a chin spoiler to go with the side skirts, and also to lower the ride ~1.5 inches, and add the Cervini upper and lower grills. Any thoughts?

Flynnster 09-21-2008 04:30 PM

Lower for sure!!

3.8for the win 09-21-2008 04:32 PM

chin spoilers all ways look good, get one lol!!!

Stephen4036 09-21-2008 05:45 PM

very pretty dude, if u had black rims with GT/CS scoops and skirts i would consider going to a v6 for gas mileage, u couldnt have picked a more gorgeous color.

King 09-21-2008 05:54 PM

GT Front Bumper, chin spoiler, lower, rims (black to go with the sideskirt and cs), blackout panel, ducktail spoiler, tint windows (assuming it's stock tint), and some performance mods. Gears, SC, tuner, and all that fun stuff.

if u can get the GT500 Conversion like Lark did.. its raw... and yes everything king said, especially ducktaiL!

King 09-21-2008 07:23 PM

-1 on the GT500 conversion. Unless you've got the power to back up the looks, don't do it.

GT Bumper, Fogs, etc.. There are several take-off sites around the web, I've ordered a couple of things for my fiance's sixer and they were prefect.

Acttacus 09-22-2008 04:53 AM

Thanks guys for the prompt feed back. I think appearance wise I'm going to stick with the V6 look for now, and just lower, chin spoiler, ducktail spoiler, side skirts and some wicked black rims. I'll consider the GT500 kit "after" the supercharger if I think the power is enough to back up the aggressive look.

But for now I think the performance mods are my top priority! Gears, T-lok, CAI and tune first, then the appearance stuff. Might have to live on bread and water for the rest of the year, but it'll be worth it haha :D
