Stupid DMV!!!

5 Attachment(s)
Ok, so I applied for a personalized plate from the Department Of Motorvehicles in the state of Virginia, using their website. The site will tell you if the plate is Available, Taken, or Not Available. The Not Available pertains to plates that are denied because of content, versus Taken, which is for someone else already having that plate.

The plate I wanted was this;
Attachment 21193

The site said it was Available. So I ordered it, and was told it'd be about 4-6 weeks. About the 5th week in, I get a letter from the DMV with a refund check for the cost, and an explanation that the plate content has been denied and deemed inapproprite. That rather pissed me off. So I go back to the site and do some checking. Of the follwoing four plates, two were Available, and two were Taken.

Attachment 21196 Attachment 21197

So, how is "my" plate "inappropriate", but these four, or at least the two already on someone's car, not inappropriate?

Im going to try and get a plate that says "STFUZUB" and if if they say it is inapproriate I will say it means 'Stuff U Zoob" in regards to BYU blocking kicks and me saying this year Utah will block theirs.

Black Sunshine 09-18-2008 11:26 AM

That is ridiculous. I would laugh so hard if I saw a license plate like that. Unfortunately, there are people that would be offended by such a plate, and that is the reason why we can't have things like that. People are scared to offend others and are too worried about being 'sweet' and 'nice' all the time.

Well, my plans for a plate that says 'ass hole' have now went down the toilet.

Blaksta0nine0 09-18-2008 12:01 PM

.........Oy the good ole DMV. I want to punch them in the unmentionables.

I went to go get my tags, keep in mind, I called ahead to make sure they took bank cards. She said, "Yeah, we take Debit, Cash, Checks, Cashiers checks, and money orders." I was like, flippin sweet, right?

WRONG

I go into the DMV, sit in line for 2 hours, FINALLY get to the window, and the lady is a bitch. I would be too if I worked at the DMV. Understandable, moving on. I finally get the new plate and all, she said "That'll be $20.00" flippin sweet right?

WRONG

I pulled out my bank card, and she looked at me as if she was fat and I was trying to steal her donuts. "SIR WE DON'T TAKE CARDS" I was like....MOFO. So, I go to the bank, get $20.00. IN ONES. BUAHAHA. Lol. So I get back into the DMV, I go up to the Customer Service lady, and ask her politely if I can just get moved up in line, because I had already lost out on 2 hours of work. She said "No sir, we do not allow 'freebies'" I was like, bitch say what? She had given 3-5 people a little slip saying it was alright for them to move up, why am I so different? So I start to get aggrivated. Because I aint tryin to steal some donuts or nothing. Eventually a "Security Guard" comes up, and taps me on the shoulder. 'Apparently security isnt a big thing at the DMV, because this KID was like 17, 5'4'' buck 10 MAYBE. I could have broken him with my hand. Lol.' "SIR I'M GOING TO HAVE TO ASK YOU TO CALM DOWN AND WAIT IN THE BACK OF THE LINE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE" I was like, bitch say what? So at the end of the day, I spent 4 hours of my time standing in line at the DMV, for 20 seconds of getting my tag. Then I stole that bitches donuts. Or atleast that was the look on her face when I handed her $20.00 in ones. >: )

PColav6 09-18-2008 01:12 PM

Do you need to wait for your tag to expire to get a vanity plate?

krazypony 09-18-2008 01:14 PM

I love that shit, I had that problem trying to use a debit card one time and the lady was kewl, I came back with cash inhand she just let me pay her and go on my way!

JackThe Ripper 09-18-2008 02:41 PM

Man i HATE the DMV... it is the sort of government job that is absolutly impossible to be fired from, especially if yer a minority, and it seems to draw in the absolute laziest fuckers in the planet, people who just dont give a shit about anyone and are just pissed off that thier welfare checks got cancelled and they actually had to get thier fat lazy assess off the couch and now they are pissed off that they have to actually do something to earn thier living. So they do the wworst job they possibly can to take it out on all the other people that are forced to interface with them for stuff like licencing and registration.

I swear to god it would be so nice if the government would outsource jobs like that to the private sector so is somone sucked at thier job they could actually be fired, then they could get all those lazy ignorant worthless pieces of crap out of there and get some people who actually care about having a job and dont mind working to keep it.

The worst of all is Medicade, man, they make the DMV look like hard working Nobel Prize winning olympians. My wife was on Medicade when i met her, and she was on medicade when pregnant, so when logan was born he qualified for free medical care for a year, (thank god he already racked up over a million in medical expences). Anyways my wife had to deal with this lady loreta who handled the customers within the alphabet range of a-d, never answered her phone once, and kept doing the most rediculous shit, like she kicked rebecca off medicade, but let her son stay on because he was pregnant according to thier records.... a 6 year old boy.. pregnant...

Now i have her and tyler and even logan on my insurance plan at work, however Logan is still covered under medicade, he may well be for the next 17 years with his heart problem.

anyways, the lady just couldnt care less, and she wasted a lot of peoples time and had absolutly no business being in that job, we found out a while later after she was replaced that she had several hundred complaints lodged against her but the state never fired her, turns out she finally left of her own accord.

good god.

people like that should be dragged out in the street and shot. get them the hell out of everyone elses way.

Dave04Mustang 09-18-2008 02:48 PM

Ahhh the DMV... can't stand that place no matter what state your in they all suck. I was in there the other week to get a new drivers license. Now I just have a temporary piece of paper :(. Don't know how long it takes for them to send it to me I'm use to getting it the same day. Knowing the DMV though someone will lose it and i'll have to start all over again

GottiDC 09-18-2008 02:51 PM

In response to Jack

I can say from the angle of the hospital towards the medicaid people you are totally right. where I work right now we have to contact them daily or they call us to argue about coverage. They are all lazy and stupid. I got a call today from some chick named Jane (probably not her name) today she said that she they had gotten a charge from us (the hospital) on a patient that they did not cover. So I said hold on and looked up the patient IN THEIR COMPUTER SYSTEM and it said this person had just been put on medicaid about a day or two before his visit to the hospital I explained this to her. She said "I have papers in my hand that say he hasn't been approved yet". I wanted to say "are they fucking dated?" but no I said "can you please look him up in your computer system" she did and what do you know? I was right....... efing bitch:mad:

AGH!!!!.. i get angry at them just hearing about that... lol...

its like there is this entire breed of people that exist with the sole purpose to piss off decent hard working intelligent human beings.

They are fat, stupid, lazy worthless, disrespectful wastes of space that sit around mad cause they actually have to do something and they expect everyone else to do everything for them.

And government jobs like the DMV are fucking breeding grounds for these leeches to society.... not that all of the DMV employees are like thay, but most of the people like that end up in those jobs because it is nearly impossible to get fired.

We had this lady named Tina work who was one of them, she worked in our call center, she was black, not that black had anything to do with her lazy stupidness but it gave her a 'racecard" and you bet your ass she pulled it all the time, the HR department figured it would be too much trouble to fire her. She was disrespectful to our customers, our technicians, to the management...

lol...

i remember this meeting, tina was there, we were meeting the new VP. He was this little Joe Peshie lookin guy with a brooklin accent and brooklin attitude. . So he introduces himself and has us go around the room and list off our name, our department, and what we do so he can get to know us a little better.

So it gets to tina. She was sitting on her lazy ass eating Ice, she wasnt paying attention to anyone, she notices everyone looking at her "so what you all lookin at?"

The new Vp says "Well, im having everyone here introduce themselves, so i would like to know who you are, the department you are in, and a little about you"

She says this, man, this is burned in my memory.

"who I is?... why should i tell you who I is, when i dont even know who you is?"

typical tina... Anyways, after a long history of running the race carxd everytime somone complained about her she finally left the company of her own accord, and she is now, believe it or not, working at the DMV...

dOcV6 09-18-2008 08:14 PM

i always had a good time at the DMV. last time i was shooting the shit with some lady that worked there.

rebelyell 09-18-2008 10:39 PM

The management should be seeing this and doing something about it. Maybe it's because it's gov't jobs, I know in the private sector, like my factory, we use temps for assembly jobs. This was not a good idea from the start. They hired a temp agency to supply the workers. They slashed the workers wages to like $7 to $7.50 an hour vs. the $9 to $9.50 they charge my company to supply them.
Anyway a good reliable assembler should be making at least $10 an hour, which is the top pay for a company hired assembler with the benefits, They will be more reliable and on time vs. stupid and always late, if they come to work at all,

In my dept I have big say about who stays and who goes, but you have to weigh your options. I have 1 old man who is always on time and never lays out, but he's slow as molasses, He stays cause he's reliable and makes the minimum production required.

Use to have another worker who always had an excuse to be out. Worked great at assembling, good production numbers, but would be out on Friday or monday, too many times, He's gone now.

And temp peoples attitudes are the worst. Like Jack said, they were forced out of the free ride deal, and had to find a real job..

When they get all bitchy about having to work I'll tell them. I wouldn't do this for 7 bucks an hour either, But I'm making 30 bucks an hour to make sure I got someone who will do it.. LOL, That pisses em off. Badly.. :t:

King 09-18-2008 10:44 PM

...I get minimum wage. :( Office Depot = FTL
I really miss when I got $12/hr at Discount Tire

If you're asking me, no you don't. You can switch to vanity anytime you want, and can change the plate anytime you want. As long as it's not already Taken. Or is to harsh for someones delicate sensibilities at the DMV. :D

For Virginia it's http://www.dmv.state.va.us/ then go to Plate Purchase on the left hand side of the site.

it sounds like your company probably pays on a weekly basis, and the employees get paid on friday get boosed up on the weekend, and then too hung over on Monday to make to work and then start over again.

My fiance' is the HR person at her work, and they have that problem a lot sometimes with there labor workers at her company, they are electrical construction workers!

And they are laying out a lot like that, especially her brother is known for this badly!

rebelyell 09-19-2008 10:46 PM

Yep, We call it Fridayitis, or Mondayitis, But sometimes it's transportation related. These poor fckers don't have any kinda reliable vehicle, and most rely on our city's bus system, which sucks badly. But like I say if you're not at work, then I aint making my production, bottom line, excuses and reasons don't make parts..

We do have a point's system to go by, so if you have a problem sometimes your ok, Just don't play the system too far.. 4 points for an absent, 2 points for a late, or leave early.

20 points and your gone, 6 weeks with no points will remove 4 points from your score..

Lol, I have 0 points this year. Perfect attendance, even after what happened to me 2 weeks ago. Plus I'm pulling 7 days till further notice.. And working 12 hours to cover for vacations.. It can be done, just gotta pay these people more than 7.50 an hour IMHO..
