So maybe I should have gone with bad WEEK...

This happened today on my way home from having my oil leak checked out. Old people should really have to take driving exams every year. Some guy tried to switch lanes right into my side as I was following a long line of cars down a turn lane. Wonder what will happen tomorrow!?!?

JackThe Ripper 04-29-2008 09:15 PM

damn man, that sucks dude! i hope they are gonna pay for it!!!

herndy_1 04-29-2008 09:19 PM

They will be, the cop basically laughed at them when they tried to play the "I must have been speeding" (down a turn lane in a line of cars) card. But now I have to worry about ending up with a car that's two different shades of red.

Make em take it to a good place :(

Insurance jobs suck, most body shops suck. Id be able to buff most of that out, but it wouldnt be perfect and the car still needs body work anyways. I wish you luck man!

SnTBakosFinest 04-29-2008 10:15 PM

when you go in to have your car fixed and its through insurance..you sign this peice of paper that says "if im not happy with your work, i take the car back, and you fix it till im happy"

..So..two different shades of red.."nope, fix it."

I played that card with my car like twice.

Once because they didn't fix something, another because they didn't screw down the ..spoiler..wing whatever the hell it is very well, in that same trip they didn't fix my fucked up steering wheel, and the paint on my side scoop was off some..

S'all fixed now though :)

It looks like where your fender and door meet is damaged. and the quarter panel in front of your side scoop too. That sucks man. I had a woman try to switch lanes on me as I was passing her. (She was driving slow and swerving in front of me). I decided to get past her as quick as i could but just when I got beside her I look over and she is inches from me. I swerved to the middle lane and laid on the horn. Geez, It was close and I was shaking and cussing all the to work.. Hope you get it fixed as good as new. Now I hate being side by side with anyone. You can't trust drivers to realize there is someone beside you. Same goes for people behind you too. I hate them. Always someone not paying attention to their surroundings...

Yeah, my front fender is dented in so my passenger side door won't open. The door is basically one big dent, even though it's not extremely noticeable, you can tell if you look at the reflections. My side scoop is done for, and I think there is some damage to my rear fender right in front of the wheel. The worst part: I am in Michigan on an internship with Toyota, and will be leaving in 2.5 weeks. It's my only car here, and I don't want a hasty job done, so I will probably have to drive it like this until I get home to get it fixed at shops I know.

Well, today I learned that Michigan has this awesome rule where it doesn't matter who caused the accident, as long as both cars were moving, nobody is declared at fault. So MY insurance pays to fix my car no matter what, I pay a cool deductible, and it goes on my record that I was in a no-fault accident... (who knows what that means in states that don't have a no-fault policy). The fact that this couple was in no way capable of driving (physical flexibility, reaction time) has nothing to do with anything. So basically, I might as well go see what kind of damage I can cause to other moving vehicles with just the side of my car for the time being... not that it would matter because the majority of the people on the road today don't give a shit about their car or anyone else's on the road. :verypissed:

Thank you Michigan.
Wow do I love this place...

I was driving down the right hand side of a fairly busy road in my city. I was going past a gorcery store. There was a line of people waiting to turn left across traffic. And all of a sudden this dumb bitch who can't see traffic, who is turning right, decides to cross her fingers, hope no one is coming, and gun it.... unfortunatly I WAS coming. But luckily my awesome driving skills got me to swerve around her while narrowly missing the person on my left. I wanted to get out and punch he in her fat face.

same damn thing almost happened to me man, this old man looked like he was falling asleep at the wheel, he was in the middle of two lanes n then went back to his lane, dude he was switching lanes without turning on his signal light. this old man was fuckin tripping me out, also he was going about 85mph in a 70mph. i had to pass him up or esle i know i would of been hit by him

Man I'm sorry to hear about that. I've yet to be in an accident (knock on wood) but that rule is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. It pretty much just allows all of the shitty drivers in this state to make everyone else look bad too. Good luck getting that worked out. Now some people will begin to realize the wonder that is the state of Michigan.

mustangvsix 04-30-2008 04:08 PM

dang man that sucks!!

99Stang 04-30-2008 04:48 PM

That really sucks. Shit like that makes me want to kill people. How are your rims? Looks like he skimmed the rear tire but cant tell if he got the rim.

SeanStang 04-30-2008 04:53 PM

That no-fault stuff is such bullshit. Always makes the victim pay for others stupid mistakes. Florida is a no-fault state aswell. I woulda decked that old fart who hit you.

Luckily my wheels are fine. He couldn't have come any closer to them though, that's for sure. I still cannot believe they allow such bullshit rules to protect shitty drivers.
