JackThe Ripper 03-14-2008 02:10 PM

typically upper level management now a days only gets offices.......life in the corporate world depending on title.

Those lotus are all over the place in ATL; I used to love to screw with them in my cobra. Nice cars however...

Its not that bad.... i was pretty worried at first, before i did this i was a field technician and always on the move. They pay better for this level of work though. Good thing is they treat us pretty good here.

could be worse though, some other Telecom companys like ICG, QWEST, and i think Level 3 all have whats called a "War room" setup and they hot seat it. It is like a stadium seating theater with desks and monitors and big screens on the far wall with network and alarm displays and stuff. The techs come in, work thier shift, get up, and another tech sits down in the same chair, same terminal with a different user login ID and picks up where they left off.

FUCK THAT

lol.

I got my own cubicle, its about 6 feet x 8 feet. aint that bad. a lot of people here have smalelr ones.

It was definatly an adjustement, and honestly not as bad as it sounds.

but field tech work was way more fun

Hell, my brother is a program directer at dell, all he has is a "Socket" It is basically a narrow socket that is wide enough for your shoulders with a terminal at the end, you sit in th seat, scoot yerself in, and plug in for the shift.

THAT is insane.

hotelling is getting very popular now in corporate america since we get cutbacks for being green. We are starting to use it as well since most of the staff are developers, DBA and the like they have a place to plug in and work then go home. Management then gets the offices :D

Yah.... i could work from home easy enough. We have the option but they somewhat frown upon it, but i CAN VPN to work from home and do my job.

Honestly.... F THAT!

The last thing i need when im trying to resolve a high priority outage is having to change a diaper and constantly being bugged by my stepson.

Plus, it gets me the hell away from the house where i can talk to other adults. lol

had a neighbour by my old house tha used to race them. they really fast if u know what mods to use. hes got like 7 lotus's. he restores them, races them, collects them.......i think its safe to say that yes hes fress off the boat from england. nice guy though, took me for a spin once.

Steeda97 03-14-2008 08:36 PM

They are sick looking. But about the cubicle thing, yeah man i could never do that. I could never sit at a desk for probably even an hour haha. I gotta get working with my hands and moving!

Badfish 03-17-2008 12:21 AM

theres like 6 of em in the springs. it's weird. the only "exotic" you see down here. though one day me and a bud saw an 08 murcielago.

00blkstanggt 03-17-2008 12:58 PM

Usually see those all over the place. I would rather get a exige S though. Those cars are definitely meant for the track.
