I will be doing Hunsaker racing seats up front.

how much weight does that free up?

97stanger 06-18-2007 05:59 PM

ive read upwards of 50lbs. When i took out the stock seats they seamed like boulders to what i put in. I mean its not like your cars going to feel faster, but im sure it adds up.

Im doubting 50lbs.. You're telling me that the seat backs weigh 20lbs each? Seems kind of hard to believe to me.

Eh' looks ok, I just don't like not having anywhere for people to sit if the situation calls for it..

check out what they have to say there, i mean your right 50lbs may be a little much, but thats still a decent amount of weight. Like i said, im not claiming my car is faster or anything, I just really like the style of it.

Dude, don't get me wrong, I think it looks good! I just wouldn't personally do it.

I just find it very hard to believe that it could save 50lbs..

Yeah, i got 3 kids and sometimes when i am out cruising i have to pick them up from games, etc.

It looks great to me.

Cheddarbob 06-18-2007 07:00 PM

like the look

Lances03SVT 06-18-2007 07:44 PM

Would like to do that to mine someday.

spike_africa 06-18-2007 07:52 PM

All the weight comes from removing that metal frame that holds the backs on. That thing is big and heavy. Also you should really take out the rear set belts too i belive thats 15 pounds of weight with both of them pulled.

MattJ 06-18-2007 07:56 PM

i wouldnt mind doing that. i HATE having people sit in the back.

97stanger 06-18-2007 10:04 PM

haha thats the main reason I took out the seats, so now I have an excuse that I "can't drive" lol...I was going to take out the seatbelts but saw that I would have to take out the whole panel above the headrest and didn't want to mess with that right now. I'm sure I'll tackle that someday, seeing they seatbelts are useless anyway now. Thanks for the compliments guys!

spike_africa 06-19-2007 06:39 AM

Yeah for sure pull them its goign to take you maybe an hour or so to do it and it will look alot better and less weight which is awsome.
