Engine finally installed
1 Attachment(s)
New engine is installed. Just a couple of minor things to work out on it before it gets fired up for the first time. Had to order a Bullitt EGR tube, it arrived this morning. The rubber Bullitt air inlet tube doesn't clear the Oil filler tube on the valve cover, so we'll be working on a solution for that tomorrow morning. Gonna either fab an extension for it, cut down the oil filler tube or see if a CAI will work to clear it. Other than that, its 98% done, woooot !!!!!
Attachment 24682 I had a new, balanced short block bored .020 over and built with Manley forged rods and Diamond forged pistons. A set of heavily P&P'd Windsor heads I bought from R3n3ck is topped off with a Bullitt intake from 03gtmustang. I swear, if this doesn't fix that damn idling problem I started this build with back in December, my next mod will consist of dynamite packed in around the engine bay. This is going to be it for a long while. The next step will be a procharger D1-SC or Paxton Novi 2000 next summer. This install pretty much broke the bank, so I'll need to recharge my accounts before I do any major modification. Thanks again to R3dn3ck for the heads and 03gtmustang for the Bullitt intake. Edit: As much as I'd like to take credit for working on this, I can't. I'm not a auto mechanic, I'm more of a human mechanic/plumber. If your in the Austin/Central Texas area, check out ProModular Performance. Kirk Prewitt is the owner and has the best customer service I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. He's quick to call and update you on the progress and/or snags that may happen as well as emailing photos of the build in progress. He's had my car in his shop since the end of March and not a week would go by without him calling me a couple of times or emailing me pictures of the UPS deliveries lol, he cracks me up. Anyway, the Kirk and his crew do awesome work, give him a call if you need any kind of performance work done. |
Looks nice..

w00t. lookin good man. That thing should be pretty sick. Those heads were ported by one of the best free-handers I've ever seen. Even I was impressed.

I had my procharger, subframes, clutch and control arms installed by them. I had all of this done while in Iraq and kirk kept me updated the whole time either by email or phone call. I've never dealt with anyone more serious and proffesional about the work they do. He even emails me now that I am back in Iraq to see how I am doing. Thats service:worship2:. Now I am curious, is that the pmp forged shortblock? |

I saw your car there while he was working on it. He did an awesome job, it looks great. As a matter of fact, the 42# injectors you bought used to be mine. I was going to use them when I had the s/c installed, but Kirk said you were having problems and needed to replace yours. Since I wasn't going to need them for a while, I told him to go ahead and sell them to ya. And yes, thats the PMP forged shortblock with a stock crank. I was at Kirk's earlier today cus they fired it up for the first time and I wanted to be there. He laughed at me when I said I was only thinking it would make 250 rwhp. He's estimating close to 300rwhp +/- 8 hp and 320/330 rwtq. I'm not going to get hung up on the numbers though, I'm just happy that I can finally drive it again. Here's a pick of it as of this evening: Attachment 24674 I was like a giggly little school girl when he fired it up :breakdancesmilie: |
Looks ****ing sweet.

Damn, you've caught up to me as far as mods pretty quickly! But be careful once you put that blower on there... those 4r70's do not like alot of torque. Congrats on the new motor such! I'm sure you'll make around 290ish with stock cams and all that flow! But why not go with an EGR delete while the motor was out? Anywho, let us know the #'s ASAP!

Thanks lol, yeah my plans for lightly modding it kinda got thrown out the window, oh well lol. As for the EGR delete, we talked about it briefly cus the intake manifold was already capped off and we needed to order a Bullitt EGR tube ($90), but since its my DD, I didn't want to take a chance on it not passing inspection and without the EGR in place, that would be a possibility. I could be mistaken about that, but my mechanic also preferred to install it as it would be from that factory and modify in the future if need be. For now, I'm gonna break in the engine for about 800 miles, then take down to S.A. to get it chipped and tuned. |

Thanks Foncarelli, like I said, I can't wait to get it back and start driving it again. |
