Just wasting internet on frivolous crap... here's a pic of the bulk of my 5.4L buildup parts. Perfect Circle rings, Probe SRS +.020 pistons, TMD forged H-Beam rods, SpeedPro main bearings, Sealed Power rod bearings, ARP main studs, ARP crank pully bolt, FRPP windage tray (needs modified), Reichard Racing intake adapter plates, comp springs, Vortech 255lph fuel pump. I didn't want to pull apart my mockup motor so the HPS intake, and Professional products plenum and TB aren't shown.

damn... looks like fun

thats a big damn picture dude.

wish i had the money to do a 5.4 swap

it costs less than you'd think. Pretty much if you can find a running 5.4 and get that, then you've only got to spend 375 for adapter plates and whatever the H-pipe mod and tuning and install. It's a simple bolt in for the most part. I'd bet you could do it for less than 2500 bucks if you don't want to get fancy with it.

I've been gathering parts for a long time now. Piecing it together saved me a couple grand off buying a forged longblock complete but it cost me easily twice as much as not building it up at all and just doing a bolt in would.

Sorry bout the giant pic... I have really high resolution on my monitor so I don't ever remember to scale them down for the non-1600x1200 folks out there.

I think you should cryogenically treat EVERYTHING since its mostly apart anyways. What are your future plans with this? Nitrous? Blower? Turbo(s)? N/A? You could throw some good boost or big shots on that engine.

Id be like...

the intake manifold will conceal a nitrous system and later on it may just get 4V heads and a blower. I've not yet decided on the size of the shot but I'm thinking a 75 for freeway passing and a 150 shot for the drag strip. With the high compression and ported heads I'm hoping I'll be happy with the NA power for at least a year or two.

I've cryo treated some of my custom rifle barrels and never really saw a useful difference. I have a .338-50BMG (my own wildcat) that I use for sniping elk and propane tanks that's been cryo'd and a spare barrel that hasn't and they both turn in the same group size. I tell you what though... when a 240gr solid bronze bullet smacks an elk going 4000fps... it's exciting.

a 400 grain arrow travelin 290 fps is also exciting:bigwink: :bigwink:

I used to hunt with a bow but after I ripped up my shoulders I kinda had to slow down on that. I draw a 90lb bow for hunting but I can only do it once or twice before my shoulder feels like it's been crushed. Gamegetter II's and a 170gr head.
