Hey folks. Im back. Been out the past week getting crap done around the house. Made a lot of progress, had a lot of crap things happen.

First off, my bumper is still messed up from where my old roomate backed up into it. he bought me a replacement bumper but i wanted to get it painted. i had 300 bucks in an envelope taped to the bumper and it was sitting in a spare room.
Went there the other day and the money was gone. Looks like the asshole i kicked out stole it, none of my other friends would. Called the police, since he lived there fingerprints are useless in court, nothing will come of it legally.

So im keeping a very very nice rolling tool chest with a bunch of nice snap-on tools.

anyways.

As for the spray on tail light tint, couldnt be happier with it. you really have more options with this stuff. Origionally i was going to use frisket film and cover the tails, measure out 1.25 inches from the outsides, cut around thsat and pull off the outside area then spray, which would basically tiny the outside of each segment and give more of an oldschool triple bar look.,. but in the end i decided to be lazy and just masked off the area for the backup0 lights cause ive never seen it done.

So ive attached a pic of my tails installed, note the backup lenses are still clear. i dig the way it looks.

uill write up a review of this stuff later tonight.

anyways.... i miss anything good?

Greg permamantly banned yet?

Tail lights look good

SpinMedia 10-09-2006 03:15 PM

car looks gay... your tail lights look like they have a farmer's tan or something. you need to darken them out more.

PColav6 10-09-2006 03:20 PM

Looks pretty good jack, I like how you left the back up lights un tinted.

+1 for originality

Am I the only one that finds it funny when someone uses the words Badfish and Ram in the same sentence?

Jack, you really need to wake up. You need to stop trusting people and protect yo shiiit more.

Dude, it aint about waking up. You should be able to trust a roomate, unfortunatly this time i couldnt.

It sucks, im pissed, but honestly what the **** different should i have done?

Seriously, should i move my $2,500 TV into my room? Lock up all my stereo stuff? Move everytihing i own into my bedroom so it doesent get stolen?

unless you got something helpful, **** off.

White04GT 10-09-2006 03:50 PM

leaving $300 dollars in an envelope sitting in a room is pretty dumb IMO..just asking to get stolen...Should of opend a savings account and stored it there.

SpinMedia 10-09-2006 03:50 PM

Why dont you sell his tools?

what about the $2500 tv hanging on my livingroom wall? should i put that in a savings account as well?

hell, i thought i could trust him, then i kicked him out, by the time he left it was gone.

allright that was a bit rude of me with the **** off comment, im just frustrated.

Im not used to dealing with roomates that i can not trust, the last several i had i could leave a thousand dollars sitting on the coffee table for weeks and it would still be there.

the worst thing is not feeling like your stuff is safe in your own home. the point i have is i have a LOT of nice stuff, and a lot of it easily is worth more than $1000 even with it being used, and a lot of that could easily be put in the back seat of any car. But i dont want to sit there and put it all in a locked room, i got the stuff to enjoy it.

I guess more than anything im lucky i still have my TV, digital camera, Dvd video camera, upper end hi-fi equipment, etc etc.

In retrospect yeah i should have put that in my bedroom i do have a lock on my door, but the idea of having to watch out for my own stuff being stolen in my own house really is unsettling.

it was not sitting out in the open though really, and i never told him where it was, not how much it was. it was in an unused room propped up in a closet taped to the inside of the bumper. not exactly in plain site.

the problem with getting roomates is you never really know what they will do. However, like i said i haave his snap-on tool set with his snap-on toolbox/cart. im not sure how much that stuff is worth, but they are some damn fine tools. pretty much everything you need for basic carwork and thensome. probably about 150 -200 pieces not including bits and stuff.

anyways, since then my garage door code has been changed along with all the locks on my house.

well, anyways the whole roomate drama should be coming to a close. I got a new roomate in, the guy is a normal 25 year old guy, likes to drink beer, watch the game, is gainfully employed with a career, has some nice stuff.

the last guy i had really burned me, but i guess that is the risk you take.

besides, show me a locked door and give me 30 minuits tops regardless to the lock and ill show you what is on the other side.

protecting yourself from intruders from outside is one thing. From a roomate it is a whole new ballgame

GREG@SN95 10-09-2006 05:59 PM

life lesson for ya chris

you can't trust anyone in this life except for those that are family or friends that are close as family...

cant trust yer GF... or the car salesman... or the guy next door...

if you killed someone... and you needed help/advise etc... the person who you can trust enough to call is your friend...

EDIT^^ no that person is more like a brother

Looks good. I used my VHT paint this weekend as well, like that stuff too.

Did you have any left over paint? I had enough to do a spare set of headlights as well with the one can. (just asking for a comparison can size?) and still have about 1/4 can left, and that was with 2 coats on the headlights and taillights.

Also, the blue fire looks damn good. I seriously need to talk to you about sending you my hood scoop and letting you do a silver fire? That possible (silver/DSGish)?

SpinMedia 10-10-2006 04:16 PM

That looks badass bro, your works getting really good. Now go practice on your girlfriends car.

SpinMedia 10-10-2006 04:17 PM

Once your ready you should do ghost flames on your car, or take off your stripes and do red flames like SAI's old car.

DarkSith 10-10-2006 04:28 PM

That looks like you best job yet, is that a portrait beside it that you air brushed?

Stan 10-10-2006 05:28 PM

I dunno, i like my car the way it is, but if i were gonna paint it i'd probably tape out some oldschool hotrod flames then do blue fire over it, that way when i pulled all the masking off it would look like blue fire done within hotrod flames, almost like the flames are beneath the paint and the front cut out so you can see em.

that'd be freakin sweet.
