ReStripe???

1 Attachment(s)
Im gonna be restriping my car in the next few weeks. Should I re do the pinstripe as well or just do the stripes?? I messed around in Paint with it and I think just plain stripes looks good but Im not about to post my childish pics. Anyone want take a stab at Photoshop and remove the pinstripes, oh and put the stripes all the way down to the front of the bumper?

That DOES look good. looks like mine.

I had mine going all the way down, eventually i took em off the very bottom part and it looked great.
My bumper got hit and i threw a new one on now it looks a lot like yours. i would like to redo the stripes down the bumper to the top of the bottom valance, however, if i get some painted on soon there aint much point in worrying about it.

U used a hair dryer and a razor blade. Use the hair dryer and heat up the stripe then VERY CAREFULLY use a razor blade to get under the corner of the stripe. Then grab the corner and slowly pull off the stripe heating it as you go.

thats how i got my stock stripes off

03AZRoush 09-21-2006 04:28 PM

is there some residue from the glue left over? How do you get that off?

venom 09-21-2006 04:33 PM

Use a blow dryer to get the old ones off as well as to heat up the new ones around curves and letters in rear bumper. Just take your time plus get really thick good quality stripes.

Lookin' at all these hot cars makes me want my stripes even more. I'm gettin' the 8" with the pin stripes. You guys think 8 is too big?

Use alcohol or wax remover, just make sure you remove all traces of wax before you add the new ones.

Mine is an 8in with pin on 2005 should be 10 with pin.

03AZRoush 09-21-2006 05:25 PM

Venom whered you get your stripe kit?

Jack The Ripper 09-21-2006 05:36 PM

www.rallystripes.com

thats where yours came from too.

no bigger than 8 inch on 99-04, 10 inch will be very difficult with the hoodscoop and the front bumper.

Badfish 09-21-2006 05:50 PM

why are you restriping it? imo dont change a thing..

pepsiaddict 09-22-2006 11:55 AM

Looks good the way it is...

I've been considering putting white pinstriped on mine, I'm not sure if it will look good on the yellow because of the white interior and top, or if it will just look out of place.

03AZRoush 09-22-2006 12:17 PM

Ya those pics are old. the stripes are starting to fade and the one on top of the car has cracked now.

venom 09-22-2006 12:23 PM

I got mine at Rallystripe but I would look to see if someone makes something a bit more durable. Since this will be the 2nd time for you ask each vendor to send you a little sample so you can compare. I would of liked if stripe had more of a shine.

Cracked? crap. He put his on about a month before i did mine i believe. Mine are in excellent shape, but like venom says it would ne bice to get a bit more of a shine.

03AZRoush 09-22-2006 04:28 PM
