TClark22 07-24-2006 01:58 PM

thanks...and i put a hella effort into them...i did like 3 coats just so there would be no old caliper color showing...if it was even a color

i just cleaned off the back caliper and about to get started on them!!

Badfish 07-24-2006 01:59 PM

i did the same thing, same color. i put on like 5 coats tho..looks good

ShapeShifter 07-24-2006 02:13 PM

Time for a stupid question - why does everyone paint their calipers RED ??

Seems like you would paint it to match yer car...

But it looks great none the less..now all you need is some slotted and drilled rotors!

my opinion it is done to contrast with the body color of your car. My silver cobra had red calipers as well. My black cobra has red as well.

Badfish 07-24-2006 02:31 PM

i painted mine red because they look SICK behind my black motegis :)

madmatt 07-24-2006 02:40 PM

I want red, but I may just buy a bullitt upgrade instead :D

TClark22 07-24-2006 03:27 PM

yea all i need are some non rusting slotted rotors to top it all off...

anyone know a good place to get any? that will work with my stock calipers

and i am not looking for the stopping power...just want it to look good...dont have enough power to need any stoping power

4.6 Love 07-24-2006 04:52 PM

did you have to remove the caliper to do it?

TClark22 07-24-2006 04:55 PM

no mamm :innocent:

PureStang 07-24-2006 04:59 PM

MattJ 07-24-2006 04:59 PM

I used the same ****. Duplicolor does start to chip and flake off after time though. I cleaned the hell out of mine and put about 4 coats on. Next time i have to take off my wheels im gonna go ahead and reclean and repaint them.

as for red, it is a great color, i think badfish shoulda done yellow though. ;)

on a black mustang, the red looks freakin awesome. it is a inexpencive yet very nice touch.

TClark22 07-24-2006 05:21 PM

rears are done...

You want Zinc plated rotors. Regardless if they are slotted, drilled, etc, the zinc plating keeps the non-contact areas from rusting. These guys have some pretty good rotors IMO: http://www.powerslot.com/. Shop around because some places have pretty good prices on them and Cardomain.com will match and beat it if you find it cheaper.
