|
that looks great!!!! how much did that setup run u ?
|
That looks absolutely badass. Nice work...
|
Looks great! Did you get the bracketry that you needed for the 2V? I had to make a couple of brackets with my setup. I've got plans for some paint work as well :)
|
hood was 450.00
paint job 200.00 shaker system and assembly 500.00 total 1150.00 well worth it. I love it |
yep, karkraft.com has everything you need for it. Just bolt bolt and screw on. Thats it.
|
Yeah, not much more then what I paid in total and I had to make the brackets for mine.
|
Man that looks tough! I love it.

Sorry to wake sleeping dogs, but I just purchased a Mach 1 hood for my 02 GT, and am going to purchase the KarKraft shaker kit. I have an accufab 75 mm tb and plenum, and want to know if there will be any clearance issues, and if it's possible to have this combo.
Also does anybody have the pics saved from this thread? Thanks! |
Wow! Holy resurrected dead thread batman!
Dude, Karkraft FTW!!!!!. I put one in a few months ago and im totally stoked. easy as hell to bolt on. goes right in. Cutting the factory air box is a major PITA though. Be patient and take your time with this. I dont know about the aftermarket plenum/tb. You might check to see how much it was raised, you DO get some play in this though i got some pics here. This is how it mounts on, the bracket uses the existing bolts on the stock plenum/tb. http://a672.ac-images.myspacecdn.com...446610496f.jpg Now see the round knobs in the pic above? those are used to adjust the height of the shaker. I have mine lifted up nearly 1/2 inch. pretty much that means if you leave the height adjustment knobs all the way down you can hold maybee another 1/2 inch of height to the plentum/tb and still be in the clear. here is another view, you can somewhat see how it brackets on. http://a685.ac-images.myspacecdn.com...4f0f6a8744.jpg here is another pic of how the bracket base bolts on, there is the part on top of the alternator and the piece bolded to the rear side of the stock plenum/tb. http://a699.ac-images.myspacecdn.com...b1bfd2de42.jpg Here is the Shaker and a CF hood i picked up. Lined right up. easy install, should take about 45 min total (not including time spend on cutting airbox). Unless of course yer installing a strut tower brace and locking aftermarket hood latches. http://a870.ac-images.myspacecdn.com...15e1b9f41d.jpg |

the thread above is my link to the install work. |
Thanks!! Sorry to re-birth this this OOOOLD thread, but I had to. It looks as though I should be able to fit my accufab plenum under the KarKraft shaker. It looks as though I can also keep my C&L tru-flow intake?
Jack you have the KarKraft kit right? |

Jack you have the KarKraft kit right? As for the CAI. Yes, you SHOULD be able to use the airtube. Maybe even the metal shield but yer gonna have to check for fitment. I know they do make CAI for mach1s that have a hole in the metal heat shield for the factory shaker tube to attach into. If yer gonna use the factory airbox you HAVE to have a K&N filter. You can probably reuse the C&L tube. The C&L tube connects to the MAF which connects to the Filter, the K&N filter has a ring around the base that actually puts a good seal in the airbox which you can see in the 5th pic being held on the left side of the pic. That piece in the other hand gets tossed, as does the part on the end of my K&N air tube. Connect Tube to MAF to K&N Filter then the outer kip of the K&N filter creates the seal in the factory airbox which gets bolted in the factory designation. |
Jack what kind of hood is that, never seen the flat clips like that on top of a hood, I presume they are for hood pins?

if i can get some gaskets made to retain the curve of the hood i would probably use them again. these are the latches. http://www.deftracing.com/aerocatch_hood_pins/index.htm |
Thanks for all the great info guys, I really appreciate it. I think I'm gonna go with the karkraft kit then, considering I have a Mach 1 hood sitting in my basement. I've heard from a few other guys too that I should be alright with my Accufab plenum/tb; what was my main concern.
Awesome pics man!! I'm thinking I'll have my body guy paint upper cowl part of the hood the flat black black, and the rest mineral gray. Get it done the right way :beerbang: |
I see JAcks pics, but not the other guys.

Get it done the right way :beerbang: that would be a pretty sweet paint scheme. Ive been wanting to leave the cowl part as carbon fiber then paint the rest black, then get one of these CCF mach 1 grill deletes. I think that would look pretty slick with the hood. http://members.shaw.ca/c-mod/items/m...99cfgrill1.jpg |

Welp, with a stock Mach 1 hood it is either Karkraft or get ready to do some fabbing, the cdc shaker systems wont fit with a regular hood without a bunch of work. there is another mach1 thread where a guy managed to fit a cdc shaker with a stock mach1 hood on a v6. he did some great work, but it looked like a pain in the arse.

where do you get the carbon fiber grill delete?
|
ebay. it is 89 bucks. shipping is rediculous though it is around 50 bucks. even though they will probably just pay DHL Global to beat the shit out of it for 10 bucks.

Once again I'm going to wake sleeping dogs....this time with final pics!!
I promised I would post pics, so here they are...Let me know what you think. I also threw on some deep dish bullitt wheels :smokin: JackTheRipper - What strut bar is that? Is it for a Mach 1? I want to get one, is it worth it? Thanks Here's a few for now. http://www.mikefordmustang.com/pictu...eshot2_web.jpg http://www.mikefordmustang.com/pictures/front_web.jpg The stripe is painted, not decal. Also that's just a glare on the front bumper, not any damage. He totally repainted the front bumper. http://www.mikefordmustang.com/pictures/flag.jpg http://www.mikefordmustang.com/pictures/fws.jpg http://www.mikefordmustang.com/pictures/front_web2.jpg http://www.mikefordmustang.com/pictures/valeria.jpg |

|
