no not bad at all. Make sure they look ok. The stock iso's will give more of a drop then going with some MM urethane ones. I always use the MM ones since they are such high quality and really dont wear out at all meaning you ride height wont change and the less change for noise if and when the stock ones wear out.

I am planning on ordering the H&R SS springs soon. I want the car lowered now, but alot of people say I should wait until I can buy other things like Steeda Ball Joints and a Bump Steer Kit.....

Thats why I havent had mine lowered because it may hurt handling characteristics and it seems like the suspension would be under stress. Is this right? I know that ALOT of guys just put the springs in and forget about it, but is that the right thing to do?

It just depends on how much the springs you choose drop your car. I have the H&R race springs an I did not put on the bump steer kit since the drop was not that much maybe an 1" at the most. But since I am switching to coilovers I will be putting on a bump steer kit, new shorter end links and sway bar bushings.

That is what i did
i got the H&R SS and i got MM caster/camber plates, steeda bumpsteer, and steeda x2 balljoints..i also got tokico illumina 5-way adjustables...if i could go back in time, i wouldve gone with a bullit suspension kit or H&R Sport kit and saved me some cash....oh well, just be prepared to spend a little extra if you go with the Supersports(i spent right around 800 - 900)

madmatt 04-21-2006 03:55 AM

I wish I had done their starter box (Max Motorsports) Comes with bilsteins, supersports, c/c plates, isos, basically EVERYTHING you need to set it and forget it.

And Lance, dont make me sick myfast on your ass...Myfast doesnt get along with "fancy" people...

Hmmm...may have to invest a little more...which means they SS's won't be going on this weekend.:censored:

LOL just call shambles and tell him instead of paying the shipping back to switch em for sports, cut you half off on the MM c/c plates :D

Yeah, I can hear that phone conversation now...

Shambles: Good morning, Mustang Tuning.
Me: Hey Shambles this Dsdaddy from the MT forums.
Shambles:Who???
Me:Anyway, I ordered H&R Sports and you sent me Super Sports, which will lower my car a little more and make it look better. I was wondering, since you sent me a better product, can you make up for it by giving me a discount on some caster camber plates?
Shambles:.........................BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!............click.
Me: :wallbash:

Badfish 04-21-2006 05:30 AM

worth a shot

jeredan2003 04-21-2006 05:59 AM

im pretty sure that caster camber plates are not needed unless you are using coilovers. Unless you need the extra adjustability, then I would stick with the stock ones for now.

the drop he will get will be like 1.8-2.0 in the front, about 1.6-1.8...If he wants to make it easy for whoever puts it on to achieve the proper caster/camber, he will get some plates since the stockers may not be able to get into the proper range

after my drop, the alignment on the front left was perfect, but the right one camber was on edge, and they told me to get them in 3k miles...

dsdaddy 04-21-2006 10:21 AM

Decisions, decisions, decisions...I've got the time off this weekend (so far), but now I'm wondering if I should wait and get at least the new isolators and maybe the C/C plates before I do it... dammit!!!:wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:

madmatt 04-21-2006 11:37 AM

See if you can work this weekend to pay for the cc plates and iso's. Do it right the FIRST time, cause its no fun doing it twice.

Uncle Sam doesn't pay us overtime for weekends...it would be nice seeing as how I seem to end up working a lot of them. I think I'll hold off on putting the springs in until i get the c/c plates and isolators and have the shop that's doing the gears put everything in at once and do the alignment too. :beerchug:

hey Daddy, ive got the sportlines on my stang. everything else is stock. ive had them on now for 40,000 miles. i havent had one problem with anything yet. and dont worry about your car being too low, the only problem i had around Abilene was leaving Albertson's on Buffalo Gap. But that wasnt that bad at all, just take a good angle. your cars going to look real nice. cant wait to see new pics

LOL, the Buffalo Gap Albertsons "Dip From Hell"!!! I don't know, I'm REALLY tempted to throw them on, but I don't feel the need to do it twice if I have to add c/c plates or isolators later. How far off was your alignment after you put the springs on and who did you take it to for the alignment? I'm assuming they were able to get it close to where it needed to be...:beerchug:

i never got my car aligned after it was lowered. they told me i might need to, but i never had a problem. Auto Accessories put mine on. they did my 04 SI and my stang, neither one of them had to be aligned. both drive straight as an arrow. Auto Accessories is on the other side of the Highway from Star Toyota (or whateverits called now, i heard they got bought out). Auto Accessories is owned by Arrow Ford. they do a good job over there. but to answer your question, ive never had any alignment work done and i have 40,000 miles on my car now

So are the Sport springs listed on MT actually Supersports? I want to know before I order since the Supers would get my car killed on Detroit roads. Plus, I don't want to scrape on every driveway since I almost do that stock. The spring drop specs listed on MT look like Super Sports and not Sports. Shambles???

I ordered Sports and got Supersports. I would guess a call to Shambles could get you the ones you want, but I'm happy with getting the SS's...:beerchug:
