Car lots?
Hi, I was wondering, do you know any good places to buy a 2000 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R? That is my dream car and it has been for about 4 years now and I'm hoping to finally get my hands on one. Thanks for all of your help. Please email me back a reply at lbleiweiss@aol.com

|
15k?
Bottomline... I'm poor I've only got 15-20k to spend on this, I live in Chicago, IL but i would drive or have it shipped in from almost anywhere...

You won't find one very easily.
1 - Ford did not make many and so the car is RARE. 2 - The idiot owners that bought them, don't drive them. The car was designed for the track, but I read in a Mustang book that Ford estimates that 90% of the buyer were collectors. 3 - The car is not that great to begin with. While unique and track ready, later model Cobras were able to lay some whoop arse on this car. For the price range you need to be in, you would be better off buying a GT and putting a Cobra R kit on it. If you buy the GT right, you might even have enough money to put a 5.4 in it too. 2000 GT's with high miles can be had for $7,000. That leaves a LOT of money left over to turn the car into a Cobra R. |

Parts?
Do any of you guys know where I can find a full Cobra R kit for a 2004 Mustang GT?
|
Those cars were way overrated. For the price they were going for, you would have thought they performed better...

k thank you
|
will i need a rear bumper because the links you gave me only have a hood front bumper and wing
|
me thinks the rear bumper is stock.
Get yourself a Mustang history book and find the Cobra R registry and you can learn more about the car. Keep in mind that the real Cobra R's were race ready. No AC, no power steering, no back seat etc.... But, you can make a car look just like one for under $2500 including paint and rims. |
k thank you

whats the difference between the '01 cobra and the '04? other than 3 years and a supercharger is that the only reason that the '04 gets 390 bhp instead of 320?

To convert a GT into an R clone you need a Cobra front fascia, the R splitter, the R hood, V6 rear bumper and the hideous R spoiler plus a side exit exhaust kit. |
