PCV and IAC
Hey Randy, got a quote from local ford dealership on the pcv, $13.76. How much to ship yours to 42001? Also, price and part # on IAC please. And would I have to replace the o2 sensor since I have an o/r x? Just wondering since they're shut off with my xcal2. Thanks.

for the O2's, how many miles and what year is it?
02 gt, 100,xxx miles
well at @ 70k to 80k O2's are just about all used up. part # for the O2's is 5C5Z-9F472-AA and sell for $75.00 each, IAC is 2R3Z-9F715-AA and $64.00 here and the PCV valve is $8.76 here. all is in stock except the IAC, which can be gotten inna' day or 2

What's the difference between an aftermarket pcv and the ford pcv?
aftermarket PCV valves usally have a larger orrifce that draws to much outta' the crank case, thus causing more gunk in the intake tract. Ford designs a part to work wthin certian parameters, say Y to Z and the aftermarket opens up these parameters, say S to Z so they can have a larger coverage of one part to fit several vehicles, so the part does not work as good as the OEM stuff and its not just IAC's & PCV valves, it also applies to TPS's, IAT's, ECT's, O2's, MAF's and ALL other senstive electronic equipment used on Fords.

Randy, ok so I get the pcv at a ford dealership today. Get home, pull the old one off and I can't get the black plastic elbow off the old one. I need it for the new one. I've seen some where they come with that black plastic piece. How do you get it off there? I've pulled and everything.
well lets make-sure you got the right one first, did you get a 2X4Z-6A666-AA?
Sure did, says it on the box....Ford Motorcraft, EV257, 2X4Z-6A666-AA.
ok, good. now the bad news, if you can't get the rubber elbow off you'll have toget a new PCV hose from Ford. try taking a razor and cutting a small slice in the base of the elbow at the valve and see if it will work loose, then just trim the elbow down a tad and slide it over the valve
