New Member + #FordChat Twitter

Hey everyone.

Quick introduction. I’m newish to the forum, but not the auto world. I write at my own blog dcautogeek.com and I also write for hooniverse.com. I’m an avid automotive enthusiast. Earlier this year I traded in my ’11 GT for a CTS-V and my wife still has her Fusion sport (we have a deposit on a Focus ST).

Over the last few months I began participating in Twitter hashtag chats. GM (#GMChat), Chrysler (#MoparChat) and the Germans (#GermanCarChat) have a very strong hashtag chat presence on Twitter.

I wanted to do the same for Ford.

So tonight I am starting a weekly Ford Twitter hashtag chat - #FordChat. (Follow @Focus_Chat)

Not familiar with hashtag chats or how they work? I’ll give you a VERY BASIC rundown and will be happy to answer other questions you may have.

Step 1: Sign up for Twitter.
Step 2: Once logged into Twitter use the search bar at the top of the page.
Step 3: Search for #FordChat. This will show all the tweets for our chat.
Step 3: When tweeting use the hashtag #FordChat

That is the most basic way to join a hashtag chat. I recommend using a tool such as Tweetdeck (tweetdeck.com) or TweetChat (www.tweetchat.com) for participating in a twitter chat. Also there are plenty of videos online that illustrate how to use these services.

If you aren’t able to tune into the hashtag chat live, I will post a transcript of it on my website. I’ll provide a link once I have the first version up. From there you’ll be able to see what was said and share or reply as you see fit.

Twitter not your thing? I totally understand. Took me almost a year to get the hang of it and find how I could make it work for me.

This chat is not associated with Ford Motor Company.

Thanks again. Hope to see some of you in the near future.

Happy Motoring,

Juan
