Welcome aboard Blue02GT!

Hey guys, I wanted to welcome Blue02GT to the MT forums. I invited him as I knew his advice would be appreciated. Dean (his other name) is a great guy with TONS of experience...he will be a great addition to the group.

Dean has YEARS of drag racing experience and is a true enthusist. Consider that just this season he has nearly 150 runs down the track in his daily driver. And, his car hits the very low 13's on a stock motor, with the backseats, and is an automatic. Adjusted for sea level, I think he is hitting 12.7 or something like that....all with 248 rwhp...that's it.

Besides being older than me (thank God), Dean runs a printing business. If you even need a banner made for your garage or shop, he's your man and his prices are reasonable and quality is awesome.

Thanks Blake, it's always great to meet fellow Mustang lovers. I look forward to hanging out and throwing my .02 in from time to time.

Hope you enjoy your stay.

Jeremy 11-02-2004 04:59 PM

Welcome to the forums Dean. Can you print out a banner with a running pony? That would look sweet on my wall. :D

Nice to see a Drag racer on the boards. They closed our local track down after repaving and other expensive concession stands and new seating . I really want to take my new 04 GT for a romp, "Legally" without the wife knowing about it. LOL. I will have to go up the interstate to find a track now.

anyway welcome bro..

Welcome to our little stable in cyberspace. Great to have someone with some seat time on the track.

xcler8 11-03-2004 08:23 AM

Good to see another MO person....I have raced many years at MAR in Wentzville, and have been at the last 5 WFC at Gateway Intl....I have raced my 73 Maverick ( high 11's) forever...but am wanting to get my 04 GT in the low 13's -12's...Hope to see you at the track!

Blue02GT 11-03-2004 06:10 PM

I plan on running at World Ford next summer. I missed it last year due to family obligations. I told my wife I'm not missing it this year.
I hope to run 4-6 NMRA events next season and get my car into the 12.6's with stock heads and cams n/a. I still have a ways to go, but I do think it's possible. I look forward to hearing all about all of your car's and what you are trying to do with them weather it's drag racing or just improving performance on the street.

What exactly are the mods on this 12 sec n/a 2v? :)

WaterDR 11-12-2004 01:40 PM

He will get back to you, but I pretty much know what he has:

- UDP's
- CAI (I think)
- Plenum and TB
- TA
- Steeda Exhaust as I recall (X pipe and catback) with stock headers.
- Converter
- 4.30's
- DR's

It's an automatic too.

C & L upper plenum with 75mm Accufab throttle body
Steeda Timing Adjuster set at 14* (93 octane)
Steeda X-pipe w/cats
Steeda catback
Steeda double adjustable upper control arms
Steeda lower control arms
Maximum motorsports full length sub frame connectors
Tokico adjustable drag struts
Performance Automatic valve body
Precision Industries 3,500 stall speed converter
Ford racing 4.30 gears
Weld draglite 15 x 8 wheels with Nitto 275 15 50 Drag radials

Just installed SCT 4 position chip with 2 tunes this week, running tomorrow in Bowling KY, hope for high 12's with decent weather. Ran 13.09 @ 103.99 last week with 1,200 ft d.a., should be able to run 12.8's with cooler weather if I can get the damn Nitto's hot enough to hook. New tune kicks butt. :D

Those are damn good times man! I hope to run similar times...though I have a vert and i'm a little heavies than hardtops :( ! I will however have all my new goodies installed by the end of december
My current mods are

Steeda full length sub frames
Hypertech power tune
Weld on 40 series flows on stock cat back
Mac o/r H
Densecharger from Mass air to fender
C&L plenum
Accufat 75 mm t/b
edelbrock dry nitrous kit (80 shot pills)

By the end of december I will have

5-speed BTW! :D ...right now I'm debating wether I should jet the nitrous up to a 125 shot and get a good tune ;)

Blue02GT 11-12-2004 02:42 PM

If you can get a good launch you should be in the 12's with no problem at all. I know a guy with less mod's than me who runs 12.9 - low 13's with a vert 5 speed. Just launch it like it's stolen. :D And hope you don't break the rear end.

After I get all the previous stuff installed and get some extra cash, I will upgrade my rear end to some 31 spline moser axles/auburn pro driff, and put her on some slicks.. :D ....6k rpm launches..here I come!

Well we got great weather and I ran a 12.894 @ 107. This SCT tune is wicked. I trapped 4 mph better than my previous best.
