Lightning blower setup plus methanol kit
UPDATE: parting the kit out now.
Been using this on my 5.4 swapped mustang. I'm gunna put it back to NA, so the blower package is up for sale. 2000 lightning blower midplate lower intake manifold intercooler (pre-fix from what i can tell, no leaks) w/ -8AN inlet/outlet. lower boost pulley w/ required and hard to find crank pulley flange stock lightning balancer dual pass heat exchanger (1x 30 row x 2", 1 x 15 row x 2") setup, Lightning/Cobra Bosch 12v intercooler pump, new aluminum intercooler tank w/ full AN conversion (all braided -8An hose and reusable aluminum anodized fittings) Alky-Control progressive methanol kit w/ 1 gallon RCS tank, full braided hose and AN fittings, comes with 4 gallons of Boost Juice 03 Cobra TB 02' F150 throttle cable lightning alternator w/ pigtail pulley bridge new gatorback belt (zero revs on it) Lightning inlet snorkel. You can see pics of it installed, and being installed at my car's project page www.54stangs.com (from the middle to the bottom of the page) There's a bunch of extras in this sale. All parts are top shelf and many have been customized. The intercooler cooling outputs have had -8 Fittings jb-welded in so there's not a single spot that uses rubber hose and clamps (yuk). The kit hasn't been driven on since i got it about 9 months ago. There's no chips on the rotors and it rotates freely. The lower manifold has been ported to match common stage 2 PI heads. All you need to use this on a Pickup is a Lightning fuel pump setup, injectors, a return hose for the fuel rails (I used them in returnless mode, L's are normaly return style), and simple hand tools. To use it on a mustang, you'll need just to install it. It's ready to go for a stang. I'd like $1400 + actual shipping (Greyhound is cheap) for the whole shootin' match. Optionally, you can buy me the parts I need and we can swap straight across. I need a HPS 5.4L intake manifold, 78MM mustang TB/Plenum combo (bbk makes this), aeromotive (or equivalent) 99-04 mustang fuel rail kit (-8 ORB), 30lbs injectors. The total retail for the parts is around 1400. If you save money and find quality good condition used parts (except injectors) that's fine. I got what I need and you got what you need. |
Would this work like a heaton on a v6?
Possible to find adaptor plates? |
Nope.

Ok... Parting out now. I had to try and sell it complete.
Blower, manifold, inlet, TB, intercooler: 600 IC pump w/ -8AN fittings: 80 IC cores (330 cubic inches of intercooler heat exchanger) w/ -8AN Hoses and fittings: 300 pulley bridge: 80 crank pulley & lower boost pulley & boost pulley flange: 50 Lightning Alternator: 80 Alky-Control Progressive Methanol kit w/ 1 gallon RCS tank and upgraded fittings and hoses, & 4gallons Boost Juice: 300 |
This SC setup is ready to bolt onto a 2V mustang as is? What about hood clearance issues?
|
well.. you can do what r3d did and cut a hole in the hood.
good god r3d, that thing looks like a beast. I diddnt realize you charged that thing. what kind of numbers were you putting down? |
it's ONLY ready for a 2v mustang if that mustang has had a 5.4L engine swap. in such a case, hood clearance is not even possible. On a pickup or lightning the blower clears the hood just fine.
jack: i never even got it down to the dyno. I just got it started up again like a month ago and now I'm working on another project. I couldn't get any interest in it to sell it with the blower on so I'm gunna put it back to NA and see how that goes. In the meantime I may be slapping some race ported PI's and a set of really lumpy cams to replace my stage 1's and comp 270's. |
