BBK LT Headers

Just wanted to know if anyone has the BBK LT header and what you think about it. I noticed that they are alot cheaper than the SLP and was wondering if it is worth it just to spend the extra money on the SLP. Also what X Pipe will connect to the BBK headers. Thanks

I don't have my BBK headers yet... They are on order though =) I can't wait.

My three choices were between MAC, BBK, and SLP. I decided to go with BBK because they were a little better quality than MAC, and a very good price for headers. Plus they will give me the same gains and sound that any of the other headers would have given me. The main difference between the SLP and BBK headers are the quality, NOT the gains you get from them.

When I say quality, BBK is excellent quality, SLP is just a tad better because they are stainless steel as well as being coated.

With that being said, I REFUSE to pay the kind of money SLP, JBA, etc. want for their headers. I think its a ridiculous price for slightly better quality and for the same gains I could get with BBK.

Go with BBK, they line up perfectly, and I haven't heard anyone complain.
I would recommend Percy's Header Gaskets, and Stage 8 Locking Header Bolts also if you are going to get the headers, because once you put them on, the LAST thing you want to do is have to go back in to fix a leak or tight them.

And for the X-pipe. You will need a "Shorty" X-pipe of your choice. The BBK X-pipe, VRS is a great company that makes X-pipes for BBK LT's. (Im going with the VRS o/r X-pipe.)

Hope this helps!

Are BBK longtubes the headers that have the dimple for the steering shaft? And will they mate up with a Mac Prochamber?

meebix.. just outta curiosity, you say BBK and SLP have the same gains, where's the proof of this? I've never seen anyone do a dyno shoot out on LTs that's why I'm wondering lol

I just like the fact that the BBK are so cheap. Hopefully ill be able to order them soon. Im lookin at 1200 total with shop installation.

Ive never seen the dyno sheet myself either. But I can tell you a bunch of guys on mustangforums.com who have their cars in mustang magazines and this and that, all have MAC, BBK Headers because they refuse to pay SLP, or JBA's price for their parts.

When you ask them why, they simply say "The quality of these headers are excellent, Ive never had a problem, I wouldn't change a thing, I refuse to pay the money SLP is asking for their headers, and The GAINS between the headers are VERY minimal"

Its only the slightly better quality you get with different headers, which is not worth the money in my eyes.

Hey if you want to argue with a guy who has a 350hp N/A 2V with MAC Headers, go right ahead. He won't pay the money for SLP, because he KNOWS he won't get any better gains.

I have them, just not on the car yet. They look great, I mean, sure, they have the dimple for the steering shaft, but who cares? Youll make great power, and Im going with a VRS off road X as well. Now, a prochamber will work, but youll have to heat it up and bend the pipes to fit, so if its worth the hassle, go for it. Maybe have a muffler shop do it.

No complaints with my ceramic coated MACs. I purchased a stainless VRS o/r x-pipe to go with them, everything fit great.
