Anyone intrested in 5.4L swaps, in here. Need you to opine.
Also, I did want to mention. With my research so far, I've found that the 99-00 intake is different from the 01+ intake. So If your buddy is going to mass produce your adapter, you'll need to figure out which lower to go with.
I picked up my setup for a steal, but its a 99-00 intake.

Yup, we went over it a long time ago. The 01+ have a much much better increase in runner height and tons of Lightning guys switch over to the 01+ intake set up. I wanted to make sure that we did it right the first time by going with the best lower.
any idea what the plates are going to run when he starts getting them mass produced?
I am still moving forward in my install. I have run into a issue, I have a broken cam gear. Its a pressed gear that broke, so I cant just replace it. I will need a camshaft. I have 2 known good non-PI 4.6 cams on the floor in my scrap pile, can those work in the PI 5.4?
Havent been on here in a while but for a little background i was planning on building a fully forged 5.4 for boost. So far i have trickflow heads with port work done, MHS stage 4.5 cams, HPS Intake and various other parts including a freshly +.030 bored 5.4 block. After building my DD honda into a DD beast i was thinking of just going high compression with the stang and keeeping it super reliable and spend a little less on the engine considering it should be able to hit mid 11s with slicks and the work i already have done.
Any ideas on what pistons to look at or rods? I was thinking highest compression i can do on 93 octane. I would be going with a ford racing crank from summit as well. As much as i would love to build for FI $2.5k for a rotating assembly is killin my build time because i had the money for it but it was stolen at the time and now a year has passed with basically no progress because i need a rotating assembly to finish the engine.

Would 400whp be possible? Here is my exact setup Trickflow Ported heads, stage 4.5 TFS cams from mhs, Stage 2 valve springs, comp cam gears, Trickflow small timing gears, ported hps intake, manley rods, FRRP Crank, steeda underdrive pulleys, Accufab 75mm Throttle body and plenum, Lightweight flywheel, spec 6 puck, FRRP HV oil Pump, Edlebrock HV water pump, 200 amp alternator, FRPP Aluminum Driveshaft, and 4.10s with a full 31spline rear. and of course some of those tps longtubes.

Hi there...I've been reading this thread for some time - since Sept 09 I think. I've talked to R3DN3Ck a few times in the past - long ago - finally starting the process. At the moment I've sourced most of what I need - however i am looking for some drop engine mounts - are they out there? Any is FTPerformance or anyone else any closer to a long tube header solution?
And is the HPS intake still the way to go? I haven't found anything else and I have heard that there are flow problems at higher RPMS - again just hearsay. Also have been looking for a KB/Torks type supercharger that will work with this set up - I have a centi set up but dont want to use it if I can avoid it.
HEADERS
OK....So I just put a 5.4 in my 98 Mustang GT. I need for someone to help me with finding headers. Also been doing lots of reading and wondering if im going EFI should I use the HPS intake? 700.00 is a lot of money to waste if this intake will not do what I need it to.... that is make my car run strong in low to high rpms.. :-))
anyone??
anyone??
Hate to be a thread jacker, but I've been chasing Redneck all over the internet about the 5.4 swap, and thought I'd caught him here, but I guess I've missed him again.
But some who have been on this massive 350+ thread are still here, so hopefully you can hop over to
5.4 swap in Tx and help me out.
I'm still at about page 145 of this thread, when I checked and saw it was still moving.
Once I finally green light, I'll join in the 5.4 thread, and note my progress as well.

still trying to source a block.
I found one on ebay for 350
with 320XXX miles. And they don't know if it runs.
Next is 700 flat.
Looks viable, but no mileage listed.
Depending on how well internals handle bolt ons, I'll buy a more expensive motor.
But finding it hard to spend more than 1400 on motor-shipping.
And the price for FRRP shorties is RAPE.
459!?
Are these the only things that will fit?!
I would use my stockers, but those are shot.
Since I have a NPI, I know I need the two coolant sensors, but I just realized, HPS is the HPS here in el paso, so I don't think I'll have an issue asking them to drill/tap mine.
