4.6l 2v replacement intake manifolds
just wondering if anyone has done any research to see whats avail to us late model 2v peeps. So far all I found was one from
Fox Lake Racing http://foxlake.accrisoft.com/index.p...y=Front%20Page not even sure it will fit a 03. |
Well, theres a couple, but none are cheap (1000 bucks +) Theres the Reichard Racing one, the Fox lake, The bullitt, and there is a new lower out from Professional Products, they arent shipping yet, so results arent in yet.

I like how the kit gives you proven hp but it looks like crap.. :(
|
Well the Bullit one is no use to you unless you drop a Vortech on it or something, what about the Fox Lake one?...I see nothing about horse power gains.

well they do make a claim, the funny part is they rate this at 6300 rpm when a 2v red lines at 6000.
Typhoon Manifold for 4.6L 2V Mustang Professional Products new Typhoon intake system for the 4.6L Ford Mustang is a really sensational manifold. Developed in conjunction with one of the leading Mustang specialists, this manifold has been dyno proven to produce 23 more horsepower than a stock manifold at ,6300 rpm with similar increases all the way through the rpm range. |

Just because the 2v redlines at 6k doesnt mean you cant turn it to 6300. If you have the right set up then a 2v will produce power up until 6500rmp or so. For example if you have ported heads, cams, intake, forged block then theres no reason your 2v wont produce power until 63-6500rpm. However, theres no reason someone should be shifting over 6k without these mods. New intakes wont really benefit you if your car isnt modded with cams, blower, etc. The only reason someone would get a new intake without having these mods is if they have nitrous and dont want to blow the stock plastic intake. The design it close to oem specs so i call bluff on thier hp claim. it looks like its more suited for boosted aplications and not n/a. unless i see a dyno graph from someone who has it, its pretty skeptical. |

They talk a good fight but I'm going to wait untill one gets dyno tested on a stock or near stock GT.
