Well, I think I'm going to get it... I'll try to do the whole dyno before and after thing(it claims 23 hp, i'll probably see 10 at most)

Sweet, pick us all up one while you're at it and we'll do a "shootout" see what mods work best with it, or I'll just take a free one and screw the shootout. :D

From what I read, they wont be shipping out for a couple more weeks yet. Although, I like the way they separated it into three sections, so you can take it apart and port if need be. We shall see though.

I wouldn't rev the stock lower end on a 4.6. Rev's kill a motor just as fast as extra power. The rods just don't handle the stress of higher rpms.

Wow that's pretty expensive! I think someone needs to get that thing installed and on a dyno so we can see what kind of gains :D I wonder why it took so long to develop something like this??

Mine revs to 6500...however i try not to go that high.

good luck. ford isnt going to pay for that intake for you. they will replace yours with an oem one or nothing.

I want Ford to pay for PI heads and Intake manifold for me...... negotiations arn't moving in my favor at this point.

1 - About time someone came up with something friggin new!

2 - The listing says 6300 and 6500 rpms. Which is it?

3 - Unlike the C&L MAF and the Plenum/TB release, I ain't gonna be the first one to jump on this. I will wait until I have seen independant dyno numbers.

4 - Prices will surely drop after other companies come out with their own version.

5 - Anyway you look at it, 23 rwhp is worth $500 - $600 IMO.

6 - I wonder how hard the thing is to tune

Its easy to swap with the right tools and know how. We did it on my friends 98 gt basially take everything off the PI and replace onto the new one. and set a new seal and there ya go check for leaks and enjoy. but I do want to see some dyno numbers as well and wait for the price to come down a bit. Well worth it if speculations are true.

I think this is kind of meant for those who want to keep their stock intake look and not go so radical looking with the p-51 intake from Fox Lake. The P-51 is probably the best intake out their for our 4.6's, but it's ugly and you have to a) get a new hood b) cut a hole in your hood under the scoop for it too fit. It's also 1300 dollars.

I think this intake right here, is the one to get. For 530 bux, I think this is the best buy. As long as the alignment on all the holes and markings are correct, I think this is a good buy. As far as power gains, I doubt there's many at all with it as it is. But I would get ir ported right away.

Looks like time is all wee can give this new intake but i'm with everyone here first things first dyno results,more producers, and might get cheaper......this still is a promising thing to look foward to.

Ya Im curious about #'s as well.. The Power + is a reasonble amount for 20+hp....not bad for $500 bones.. I would buy it. I would like to see the complete specs though, like what the gains from low-end to high end rpm's. Im kinda baffled about the 6500 rpm range though..I know I would never think about taking my motor to those levels. 5200 max. I agree with that guy though.. It really piss's me off that we have to spend so much $ to get minimal gains..all the money spent on minor bolt-on's and what real gains do we see. The dollar amount vs. HP gains is mad. Thats why Im going towards gettimg my Charger.

id like to see a dyno sheet on this. the castings looked sort of half assed. they tried priding themselves on mass production for a cheaper price instead of more of a hand made setup.
I dont think a stock direct replacment of that intake is going to yeild that 23hp, cut that number in half and ill believe you. I do like that idea with nitrous though. its unlikely that its going to blow shrapnel into the valves like that plastic one can.

Even at half that, 11 hp isnt worth spending 500-600 dollars...not to mention the time it takes to swap it all. can you hear that? thats my K.B. calling my name..lol

well that intake is great if you have nitrous or boost. im sure it can withstand a nitrous hiccup. if you have ever seen those go bad, youll be glad you spend 600 bucks instead of a new intake, valve job, and whatever else it damaged in the process.

Like i said Logan Motorsports out of Illinois is finishing up their prototype on the CAD machine. Their goal is to build a customer specific hand made sheetmetal intake complete for less than $1000. These guys are great SCT tuners, and good all around guys. They have propelled a stock longblock 04 Cobra into the 9.80's so they are no strangers to Mod motors.

an intake spacer would probably actually make a difference with this intake too, the nice thing about the polymer intake is that it insulates the plenum from the heat of the block and heads.
