Newbie Exhaust Questions
Before I order tonight or tomorrow:
I am ordering the mac prochamber for right now. No catback yet, I just dont need it right now. So I make my way to brenspeed.com (they are all over ebay with a good feedback) and I get the prochamber in my shopping car, and now heres where I need the help. Do I need both the mil eliminators and the o2 extensions for my 04? and now a question about installing them... Theres 4 sensors correct? The 2 front ones screw into the new h pipe like normal, then the 2 rear ones go sensor > mil eliminator > extension > into the new h pipe? Please help. :p |
I don't think you will need the extensions. I had to get extensions on my old stang when I installed my long tubes however.
|
you shouldnt need extenstions.
and it goes connector,mils,sensor into h-pipe. |
Correct. No need for extensions. Just plugs in between the wiring harness and the REAR o2 sensor. Only time extensions are needed is with long tubes
|
Alright, so the front 2 sensors go in like normal, then the rear 2 sensors get the mil eliminators?
Thanks for the answers guys, after this im ordering. |

http://www.zx2racing.com/articles/mil.htm Scroll down and it has a couple diagrams under "building mil eliminators". Don't be intimidated at all by it, I was at first and being a mechanical moron, I was still able to figure this one out. |
I decided to go with the offroad H pipe instead of the prochamber because I heard it would be more of a wild rough rumble. Since it was $70 cheaper I went ahead and got the $50 MIL eliminators.
Thanks for the info though its definatelly a good read. |

right on. I wonder how it will sound. You should post up what you think when you get in installed, I'm curious how they sound.
|
Definatelly. I have the ability to get a good sound clip.. not one of those that are all distorted.
|
nice, definitly, PM me when you do if you remember
|
That's a very good article that you found and posted about the MIL eliminators. Bad for people that sell them though.

on some tuners you can turn off the back o2 sensers and there is no need for mils.
|
If you are going to leave your rear O2 sensors in and have them turned off by using a chip you'll need to get the extensions because the placement of the O2 sensors on the 04s is different than 99 - 03.
