trying to do it cheaply

Default trying to do it cheaply

I want to use my stock block (bored .02) and stock crank with new rods and pistons compression around 11:1 balanced. can I spin to 7000 rpm?

I assume you own a bullitt...you shouldn't spin the motor to 7k with your stock non-forged crank. You'll want to get a forged crank if you plan on spinning it that high. You should be able to find a forged crank used pretty cheap.

Here's my .02 First of all... I would never do it "cheaply" to begin with. Take your time, spend the money to do it right. All forged internals will save you money in the end cuz your motor will be solid all the way through. Post up some pics of that Bullitt tho! Glad to see another Bullitt owner on the forums. Our cast cranks are actually pretty solid pieces, good for a decent amount of power. Just not meant to be spun up to the 7k that forged cranks can handle.
