Exhaust

I Have A Magnapack cat back for my 97 gt, but now i need help on which x pipe will be the loudest for my that, i was thinking Bassani, slp, magnaflow catted x, can you guys me, thanks

spike_africa 08-09-2005 10:56 AM

loudest is any mid pipe with no cats. they arent louder than the rest. only a mid pipe with cats would be quiter than one without them. So pick one you like and there ya go.

Gt EriC 08-09-2005 11:01 AM

thanks, but which will sound the best out of those three

MattJ 08-09-2005 11:08 AM

Its all user preference. Some like this some like that, you know...
Check out the video section for exhaust clips and see what suits you.

Gt EriC 08-09-2005 11:25 AM

thanks,i look at those but i cant really tell that much cause they dont have the magnapack, and also i want it to have that free flowing and loud ildeing lol, to you know, to wake up the exhaust

NoKturnaL 08-09-2005 12:48 PM

If u want that deep throaty REAL muscle car sound...go with a H-PIPE.

I have heard people say they werent really happy with the sound of an X-Pipe cause its to raspy, almost like a foreign car sound..

But the X does deliver somewhat of a better exhauust flow resulting in a slightly performance gain over H-Pipes...

I say go with the Magnaflow Tru X.I have cats on mine and with the Magnapacks they sound awesome.Try here http://www.completeexhaust.com/index.php they have real low prices on Magnaflow if you call, alot cheaper than on the site and ask for Joe.A friend of mine helped me install mine Saturday and said it was the best fitting X pipe he's ever installed,he owns a muffler shop :)

Gt EriC 08-09-2005 02:14 PM

thanks guys but how is that magnaflow tru x is it deep throaty or is it a little high pitch, and also i looking for an intake any ideas

Lances03SVT 08-09-2005 02:33 PM

The Magnaflow tru X is a little of both I'd say.Kind of a nice mix.Rumbles low at idle and just screams at WOT :)

Gt EriC 08-09-2005 02:36 PM

sounds nice, In your opinion which do you like better the slp the bassani or magnaflows catted x's

Lances03SVT 08-09-2005 02:40 PM

I like the Magnaflow catted X's.But I'm a little biased. The sound clips you hear does not do them justice.

Lances03SVT 08-09-2005 02:45 PM

Got my X W/C for under $400 shipped too :)

Gt EriC 08-09-2005 02:51 PM

nice, im thinking of getting an intake to any ideas

Lances03SVT 08-09-2005 02:52 PM

Gt EriC 08-09-2005 02:55 PM

Is the Magnaflow Tru-X pipe the one that is 50 state legal? Did you notice any increase in hp? I actually was thinking about getting one as well since I live in California and have strict smog laws.

Lances03SVT 08-09-2005 02:58 PM

Hmmmm I started a thread about the same thing recently.I like the Mac and Steeda CAI's that MT sells also I like the K&N FIPK or the Typhoon.

Gt EriC 08-09-2005 03:02 PM

i was wondering i have an aod and i want the rpms to go higher and have longer shifts any ideas

Lances03SVT 08-09-2005 03:03 PM

Here is a Magnaflow link for the X pipe.
http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...merican&id=290

Lances03SVT 08-09-2005 03:04 PM

I'd say gears and a tuner would take care of those for sure.

Gt EriC 08-09-2005 03:09 PM

that priced that x pipe too much

Gt EriC 08-09-2005 03:10 PM

how about a shift kit is that any good

Lances03SVT 08-09-2005 03:10 PM

????? What did?

Gt EriC 08-09-2005 03:13 PM

that tru x pipe on mangaflow.com is priced at $1384.07 thats insane

jjtgiants 08-09-2005 03:13 PM

Thanks for the info, I just looked on www.completeexhaust.com and the Magnaflow Tru- X seems to be only $65, but it has a different part number than the Tru-X on the Magnaflow website???

As for adjusting your shift points to a higher RPM I think you need to get a
tuner in order to do that.
