clutch cable question
Does anybody know what size bolt holds the clutch cable cover on a t-3650? I just had my clutch changed and apparently the mechanic didn't tighten the bolt enough as the cover fell off. I was able to find the cover in the road, but the bolt is gone. Anybody know the size of the bolt?

take it back to the shop and tell them that fell off your car. Why should you have to work to fix something they F'd up...Just sayin.
I have no idea what bolt would go in there. I would go to the dealership and ask the parts guys to look up the bolt on the transmission. They can give you the dimensions of the missing bolt you need. Thats another route I would go if the shop wont help you. |
that would be a good idea if the mechanic was close, but he's not. I will probably just go to the ford dealer...I was hoping someone knew the size of the bolt and I could get it from Lowes.

Its not a bolt, its a big threaded screw that goes in there.
|
Not sure if you can find that bolt easily outside a dealer. But yeah, it's a metric screw w/ a 8mm hex head.
|
Worst case just get one from a junkyard or just go to Home Depot and buy several screws and you can return the ones you dont use.
|
You basically just need a screw with the right thread, approximately the same length (1" or so), head size doesn't matter much with that screw.

Thats the info I was looking for...Thanks guys. I will run by Home Depot and buy up some metric screws of different sizes and hope to get the right one. Thanks again.
