pi vs non pi
does anyone know how to tell the difference between pi block and non pi block. the only numbers i see on both of my blocks are behind the timing covers (22222222e1) and to the top left of the water pump F1 an F1 with 211 right below it but both have the 22222222e1. one has way deeper dished pistons than the other though. im stumped cant find any answers on google no one seems to know

You should see a longer casting number than that though... check on the side of the motor near the front just under the cylinder bank and above the oil pan rail.
Here's the casting numbers: http://www.enginebuildermag.com/Cont...0000005480.jpg http://www.enginebuildermag.com/Cont...0000005481.jpg F1xx block castings are VERY early. Some may even have the 5.0L bolt pattern for the bell housing. Be extremely cautious about using F1xx castings. |
