accufab?

For my next mod i am thinking about buying the accufab 70mm t/b and plenum package from here. First off, i should use 70 right because i am going to keep my car n/a, ive heard use only 75 if your gonna s/c your car. Second, is this package even worth it for $400?? what are the hp gains from this package? is accufab the best brand to buy? thanks

Expect about 10 hp. If $400 is worth 10 hp to you, then get it. The 75 mm TB is a good fit and you will see a modest gain over the 70mm TB depending on which plenum you choose. The 70 mm TB seems to have less idle issues.

The accufab is a good way to go. I had just the 70mm on before I got boosted. I ran stock tune with x-pype,and underdrive pulleys and got dynoed at 244 rwhp. Not bad for a automatic N/A. I now have the 75mm and it works great with my supercharger. But I'll tell you it does kill your power with 75mm N/A. Just get a good tune if you want more power.

so you guys think if im going to stay n/a get a 70mm, not a 75mm?

First off, dont spend the 400 bucks on a plenum/tb. Save your money and get some PI heads and intake FIRST. Now that you have the gears, you need the heads. Any nonpi headed car should get these once they have gears. Just my opinion, but I didnt feel all that much from my tb/plenum. Money is much better spent on something else.

now about this PI heads and intake setup...what exactly is it? how much? where can i buy it from? hp gains? is there any other necessary mods needed to get this done?

PI head are the heads that came stock on the 99 and up GT's. They outflow the non pi heads by lightyears, and even more so if they are ported. You can usually pick them up for about 350 for a set on the classifieds, or I think they are like 700 bucks brand new from ford. Youll have to check on that though. The PI intake also flows a lot better and tends to run about 200 bucks. ( I think thats what they sell them for here). The whole conversion costs about 1500 bucks I think, but its worth something in the neighborhood of 50+ hp. Just research it a bit here and on modulardepot.com. Thats the only way to go in my opinion.

if you are spending 1500 for that stupid PI upgrade, buy nitrous and gears.

Also, for $299 you can get a C&L Plenum and Accufab 75mm TB from www.rpmoutlet.com
