Crower cams?
 

I'm looking at these stage 3 cams but my worries are PTV. Is this cam going to cause this?

Those seem to be fairly close to the Comp Cams 270AH cams. The 270's fit in a stock motor when timed correctly. When they aren't timed correctly they have PTV problems. Those have less duration then the Comp 270's so they should work in a stock short block when timed correctly.

Edit: I looked them up on their site those are a 276 duration cam. Those are freaking huge! those are not going to work in a stock short block without fly cutting the pistons. They are also way to much cam for your mods. You need to pick a cam that works with what you have. You don't have a intake manifold that can flow enough air to really spin the motor high and use those cams.

You can't spin your motor high enough to use those with stock parts, and your cylinder heads don't flow enough to use those cams. And bigger isn't always better when it comes to cam's. You can over cam a car and make it slower and worse to drive very easily. look at their stage 2's or Comp 270's are about as big as you want to go with a stock short block. Your gonna need valve springs and a dyno tune with a competent Ford tuner to get the car to run well and not die at stop lights and have drive ability problems.

No point if it doesn't match your combo. Cams are based on the total package, which is why when you fill out a cam recommendation, you need everything from the compression ratio to rear end gear. Also, I'd stick w/ the PI grinds (up to around .55" lift) as it's a better street cam. Anything w/ huge duration or lift around .6" is for race only, or a 5.4.

Hey Dustin, you know where i can get VT stage 2 cams? I know VT's website is no longer avaiable but i think someone form that company opened up another website and uses the same spec. but i just cant find the site. you know?
