External Pump wiring on 99-04
Anybody switch to return line system with external pump? If so how did you wire it in. I wired mine through a relay triggered off the roll over switch and disconnected the factory pump. And this gives me a check engine light for a feed back error on the factory pump. I dont remember what number it was. I tried unplugging the factory pump contrioller and that gives me another check engine light. The only way I got it to work was leaving the factory pump in the tank with the hose disconnected, but this airated the fuel so bad I couldnt even get 20psi out of my new $500 pump. Any ideas on what I should do?

keep the returnless fuel system??? what are the benefits of going with a return system?

the cost of upgrading to decent pumps, controllers, tank hat, etc....is way more than a pump and return regulator. It more like triple the cost. I have $500 in pump and regulator vs $1500 plus for all the other stuff.

Long shot but have you checked to see if you can get a work-around in the tune?

The tune has been changed to tell the pcm that it has a return system and to command 100% duty cycle the problem is it is still looking for some feedback from the pump. Thats why i would like someone to chime in that has already done it.
