Need a lil help

Ok here is the problem. I have 2001 GT with auto tranny. A few weeks ago I was having an issue with my car. When I would take off from a dead stop the car would shift fine from first to second. Once it shifted the RPM would fall almost to the point that the car felt like it wanted stall. I was wondering would my IAC valve cause this problem? I have over 100 thousand miles. Or could it be the torque converter? This is the second time this has happened. I want to take it to a mechanic but Im afraid they won't find anything since its not doing it now.

Do you know if the fluid and filter have been changed in it? Mayb something as simple as that. I'm not all that good with tranny's but I just hate posting and getting no response.

Its so hard to say about tranny issues over the net. Is the O/D light flashing on you?

No Spike it's not. Well my car started actin up again today. My car started acting real sluggish, even when I was at WOT. The car takes off fine and then once it trys to go to second it's like it dosent want to budge no matter how much push down on the pedal. It also occurs thru the other gears as well. The funny thing about it, is that the times that it has done it has been when it's been really hot out side, and when I have driven the car around for awhile in stop and go traffic. After I let it sit its like the prob goes away. I'm replacing my fuel filter tomorrow. I'm also thinkin of doing a tune up, and replacing my IAC and PCV. I think what I will do next time it does it is take it to my mechanic, so he can see first hand what its doin?
