Problem!!!!

Ok put my BBK CAI on like 5 mins ago now I'm noticing that when I start my car the idle goes from about 1k to just 500... No check engine light has come on, but I think something is up. Is this normal or should I be alarmed?

Assuming you have everything hooked back up correctly and there are no air leaks. You just need to let the car relearn how to idle with the intake on the car. I would reset the ecu by disconnecting the battery for 5 mins with the headlights turned on. Then hook it back up and the ecu is reset. After a few cycles of driving it will relearn how to idle.

I'm almost 100% positive everything is correctly hooked up..... I think I'll just buy a tune for it now........ hahaha.... I'll tell me wife my car is messed up and get her to get it.... lmao

Does the idle eventually level off at 700rpm? A little variation in idle on a cold start is expected.

Something like that.... After I thought about it again its the first time I've started the car in like 2 weeks so I figured that might have something to do with it. It does level out after a minute or two.

Do what Spike said and reset the ecu. Then start the engine without touching the accelerator pedal and let it run for 20 mins without any throttle movement, this will relearn the system and all should be good.

Will do.

Its not so much just running time with the motor on, but rather a few cycles of driving it and turning it on/off and it will relearn the idle.

Appreciate it guys. I didn what you all told me to and it is idling better already. Found a guy that will tune it for about 300. Did some reading on him so hopefully he'll hook it up pretty good. Thinking about going with a Roush Supercharger next year now.

Run that one by the wife and let me know how you make out...
