Throttle body TB HELP!

i have an o6 mustang gt. i recently installed a new steeda cold air intake, flashed it with the sctsf3 tuner, and installed a twin BBK 62mm throttle body. i custom ordered a tune with a trained proffesional so i doubt it is computer problems, however i am not throwing away the fact that it could indeed be a comp prob. the problem is when i start the engine everything is fine, but once it starts to idle, it hovers around 1k rpms and stutters likes its just on the verge of dying, but never quite does die. i press the accelerator but i dont get any response. i have taken the TB on and off several times and switched beck to the stock throttle body several times but to no avail. i have quadruple checked all hoses and wires and cross referenced them with the manual so i know where they belong. any advice or input to help solve this problem would be appreciated.

You don't need to post a question twice in different sub-forums. Once is good enough.

No change in rpms with throttle pressed means computer problem or problem with the TB as its a drive by wire setup and thus no actual cable connects to it.

Not the first time someone fucked up a tune and then a customers car didn't work right. It happens sometimes.

ALright. I reverted back to stock settings and i still get no response. so a soluton would be?

So you left the BBK TB on but w/ the stock tune? What you may want to check is if all your hoses are tight and not causing a vacuum leak. Also, the gears in the BBK TB use brass right? Stock gears are plastic, so the the larger amounts of friction from the brass gears may screw you up.

no it is not stock tuned. it is a custom tune right now. when i reverted back to stock throttle body i also reverted back to stock comp settings, which still gave me no throttle response. BBK gears are not brass but are plastic as well. all hoses are tight.

Id run a scan and see if any codes are being thrown

Stang Kang 06-18-2009 04:03 PM

lol i tried that. none are. this is really annoying lol

zigzagg321 06-18-2009 04:52 PM

ok, so the car it 100% stock now...as far as the engine and computer goes?

Stang Kang 06-18-2009 04:54 PM

except for the intake filter and intake elbow yes everything else is stock.

zigzagg321 06-18-2009 04:58 PM

ok, put the stock intake stuff back on and take it to the dealer and get the issue fixed under warranty.

c'mon we arent all bad...

No codes would make me thing the electronic throttle module may be going bad... just a guess.

Some electrical problem is clearly going on if both the stock and aftermarket TB don't work. Are you sure you hooked everything back up electrical connection wise?

I would start with checking for a blown fuse, and resetting the cars computer. Just unplug the neg cable and turn the headlights on for says 5 mins or so and it will drain the battery and reset the ECU. I always start with the easy stuff first.
