How Hard is it to install headers on my....

I was talking to my buddy, who does all his own work on his mustang
(99gtw/balanced blueprinted and overbore-ed 2001 cobra motor)

About installing the SLP long tube headers that this site offers...
He said that it's not worth the hastle and that I should just have it professionally done....

I on the otherhand...ain't got that kinda money.....

I mean it can't be impossible... I got a garage, tools, jacks, jack- stands.....

any instructions would be definately be much appreciated!!!
thanks in advance!

Some guys actually pull the motor to get them on.

Well I sure as heck hope I won't have to do that

Well, youre going to have to do about everything but pull the motor to get longtubes on. Most people just drop the K-Member and do it this way. Some loosen the motor mounts and jack one side of the engine up to get them in there, but none the less, its a pain in the butt from what I hear. Look for about a 5hr-8hr-3 day install time lol. Hopefully not the last one. Good luck, they are well worth the money. Most people see about 20-25 hp with Longtubes and a new midpipe.

You will have to drop the K member to get the headers on. It is a PITA because you have no room at all to work with.

I've read the K member has to be modified to get long tube headers on a convertible... anyone have any experience or knowledge on that? It'll be a while before I get to them (700 + install is out of my price range with the cheaper installs still yet to be done). It'll be something I have done at a shop more then likely as I don't have the space or equipment to do it in my driveway! Let me know, thanks!

I think I'm gonna tackle this myself..... What should I use as a hoist point on the motor to lift one side at a time?

wish me luck!!!!
