Plenum installation

I'll be picking up my C&L plenum tomorrow and just wanted to see if there are any specific instructions I need cause I am buying it off of someone who never installed it. I think it is just bolt on like the stock one but just checking.

make sure you disconnect the battery before you take the stock plenum off so the computer resets when you reconnect the battery after the new plenum is installed, or else your car will idle at 2500rpm because of the higher volume of air going in and the computer not recognizing it. install is easy and only takes about 15 minutes with a screw driver and 1 or 2 sockets, goes right in like the stock plenum.

yup, very easy install.. good luck! (though you shouldn't need it)

Thanks guys, I did the install earlier and I didn't unplug the battery...I must have gotten lucky cause it still idles the same. thanks though

HAHAAHAHAHHA that is funny, who told you that? of course, you bought a plasma booster soyou probibly believe most of the BS people tell you.

i've thrown 4-5 different plenums testing them out at the track, a couple different TB's too. it has never idled funny.

to original poster it takes a screwdriver to undo the tube and a 8mm socket and a 10mm socket with an extension, shoot yourself if it takes more than 8-10 min. if you have EGR still, you may need a wrench to get the egr tube off.

Thanks...it went on under 20 mins. I can tell a difference in the response...still need my throttle body but that will be after gears.

it happened to my car when i put on the c&l and 75mm throttle body, so yes it does happen. just trying to be helpful and give some advise from personal experience, no need to be an ass.

glad it went in without any problem! the bbk 75mm works great and is less expensive than others if you havent decided which one you want, thats what i went with

yes the idle can act funny. Mine did it with my accufab plenum and 75mm TB. Actually it happens to a lot of people. Normally takes a couple car drive around the blocks and will adjust it self.

csledd 07-06-2005 09:38 AM

anyone ever notice a humming noise after installing theirs? I had one coming from my engine, some people have told me it could be the IAC going bad but I dunno /shrug

Stevoneo 07-06-2005 09:54 AM

i shrug as well. Didnt get it from mine
