Bullitt Questions!!!

Well I've finally sealed the deal with my 01 Bullitt my first mustang and first car hooray!!! I was wondering about a few things on my car. The clutch is very stiff so much that it hurts your foot driving in the city, how can i loosen up my clutch some??? Also what kind of numbers should i put up at the track stock with street tires? And what times should i put up with an xcalibrator, magnaflow catback system? How much HP at wheels stock? How much hp at wheels with first two mods listed? Thanks it is gonna be beautiful!!! I will have it in hand in a few days my parents are driving from California right now, yes i know that's a long way away but they wouldn't trailer it so oh well it still has decent mileage... 20K.

As far as I know there isnt a way to adjust a hydraulic clutch. The car is capable of high 13s. Get it dynoed.

I bet the car has an after-market clutch. If so, then that is how it will be.

How do you know what the clutch feels like, if you are going off opinion of you parents, just wait until YOU drive it. Shouldnt be that bad for a stock clutch. Anyways, you should pull about 230 to the rear wheels stock. Also, the xcal and exhaust is prolly worth about 15-20 hp. Track times, well, being its your first car, lol prolly about 20's. Factory I think they are rated at high 13's. Now get a blower for it...that intake was meant for it.

I suggest doing 3 sets of 10reps calf raisers everyday til the clutch feels softer. I dont see how it can have a clutch with so few miles. Did you have an import as those clutches are made for women so it might feel stiff compared to that. If you can try to drive another stang to compare. :toothy10:

I'm goin by what my dad said from the road and he drives a vette not an import. It's the stock clutch and as far as track times i was asking about after i get good at driving the bullitt. Do you think i can beat my dad's c5 vette at the track he has 6-speed stock vette vs. my bullitt with catback system and xcalibrator tune.

your going to need a few mods :)

A Mustang can easily beat that Vette with something as simple as nitrous, but it is also possible to get the car into the 12's w/o a power adder such as nitrous or a SC. Takes some work, but many have done it.

Perhaps your best "mod" might just be your Dad's reluctance to drive his Vette hard. I have a friend with a new '05 GT and his car is no match for mine because he drives it like an old lady. He nearly goes into convulsions if the needle even gets close to the redline like it is some sort of religion. Driver makes a big difference in regards to skill also.

You need to drive it like you hate it in order to get the best possible time from it.
