Time for some more power

I'm going to be ordering some parts within the next couple of days to get a little more power out of the GT. I've decided on...

Mac Straight Shot Cold Air Intake
Accufab 75mm/TB
XCal3 (with custom dyno tune)
Cams (Still undecided on which)

I've heard really good things about the Comp XE270AH, and MPH's cams, the question is which one? I'm looking for a nice aggresive lope at idle and the most power I can get. I'm shooting for 290ish to the wheels after all is said and done. I put down 243rwhp on a Dyno Jet with just my exhaust and no tuning, so I think 40-50rwhp with these mods should be obtainable. Also, my tuner said I should get larger injectors and he can tune them to whatever fuel is needed, I was just going to step up to 42lbers so I only replace them once, good idea or no?

Stock injectors will feed that 290-300rwhp you dont need bigger injectors and if you did upgrade 42# would be rediculously overkill. Comp270's are very good and the biggest ones from comp cams that work with stock pistons.

I will agree with the use of XE270AH cams. They are a great upgrade. When you install them, make sure they are degreed in properly, if they are installed a couple degrees off, you can get PTV contact.

Are you serious? Read the sticky at the top of this forum.

Pretty much every conversation that involves upgrading the stock cams mentions having to degree them. Especially with a cam like the 270, if it is off you will have some serious issues. Plus when they are in sync LH to RH you get the best performance.

As stated earlier, there is no need to upgrade anything on the fuel system. I would look at Modular Powerhouse custom grind cams, or HiTech Motorsport Stage 2 cams (have shown gains of 45rwhp on stick cars). Don't waste your money on the Mac induction, get a JLT Ram Air Induction instead. Mac is metal and will heat up causing you to suck hot air in. JLT is plastic. You should also consider longtube headers if you don't already have them. BBK's would probably be your best bet.

I really doubt that you get 290 to the rear wheels without all the bolt ons including long tubes

You are correct. Full bolt ons with cams will get him anywhere from 285 - 300 rwhp. If he has everything except for longtubes, he will be around 275rwhp with the cams.
