timing chain

when changing cams is there only one way that the cam sprocket will go on the cam . thanks

It has a key way on it so it only goes one way, IIRC.

correct, they are keyed and the stamping #'s on them face foward, also left and right are different and it's very important that you have them on the correct side....are you having issues?

i looked over the artical it was helpful, but it says to put the crank in safe-mode , what do they mean by this.

Rotate the crank till the key way is pointing in the 12 o'clock position (straight up). Do that for the cams as well.

What Bossman said. It also mentioned this in the article (I sent you only a page but they mention this earlier on in it).
