Looking to get headers. Anyone have any input about BBK Shorties?

Looking to complete my exhaust. I have a LMI catback and im looking to get an o/r x and leaning towards BBK Short headers. AM just put them on sale and they fit my budget just right. Anybody have this setup?

Go with long tubes. Shorties aint worth all the hassle but long tubes are.

well I guess I should kinda reprhase my ? Mainly because I dont know the difference, I just know that LT are pricey.

yes, L/Ts are pricey...but at least they're not a waste. would you rather waste $300 for shorties, or save and spend $600 for something that will actually make a dramatic difference?

my next mod is a set of MAC L/Ts, followed by pypes x-pipe (with cats), then top it all off with SLP Loudmouth 1s!

BubbastanGT 02-04-2008 08:03 PM

thanks, that is what I needed to hear.

BrandonJD25 02-04-2008 09:35 PM

yah, i mean sure you'd have more money left after slopping on shorites. but in order to really get the joy of that first crank up and feeling the difference....you'll be glad you got the L/Ts!

repost with results man....

and i wanna know what the sounds combo is like? i love the SLP sound, but is it too much? i mostly drive around town, but a few times a year i go home for breaks, and that's an 8 hours hall! is it headache inducing? do you have to shout over it to passengers?

I would not reccomend SLP's to anyone. I had the SLP LM1 and when I got my O/R X pipe I had it on for about 2 months and then switched to the SLP Power Flow mufflers...Much happier with the sound. I have Bassani headers as well and they sound awesome =D

The SLP Loud Mouth One sound great for about 3 months then the inside noise drives you crazy especially crusing on the Hwy. SLP Powerflow much better on the ears while crusing.

what about SPLII's ?
how are they compared to the power flows and the SPLI's?

cpthowdy 02-23-2008 02:38 AM

if you dont want loud, dont get the x or h pipe, i have the slpII's, and i liked it.

Just Put on BBK LT's on 97 Cobra with o/r h pipe!!!! Do the Long Tubes...if you haven't already!

El Diablo 02-27-2008 08:36 PM

The shorties are no different than the stock exhaust manifold. The lt's will give way better performance if you go with forced induction. I have the BBK Lt's, BBK o/r h pipe, and SLP LM. Sounds sick with a blower and cams...:D
